Do you think that it was a good idea for Governor Whitmer, not once, not twice, but three times to go to the White House, work with someone she's politically and diametrically opposed to, to get

the work done? Well, look, you know, she had her reasons for going.

And I understand in public service that you don't really second guess the choices that somebody makes.

Like I said, he is the president of the United States.

And if there's an opportunity to serve our state, I will talk to him and engage with him.

And so, you know, it's not my place to judge Governor Whitmer and the choices she's made because I know that she was serving in good faith to try and secure key resources for Michiganders.

But it is my job to remind folks that we have clear policy goals.

They're going to get around and talking to each other about the issues.

So Gretchen Whitmer had an op-ed in the Wall Street Journal talking about tariffs and their effect in Michigan.

And I'm curious what your thoughts on this, Greta.

I think tariffs are going to be a sleeper issue in all the upper mid-northern states.

But I mean tariffs specifically and the Canadian relationship.

Yeah.

Gretchen Whitmer said it's a big deal in Michigan already.

I think it is a big deal in Michigan.

The, uh, yeah, obviously you played so many, uh, characters.

Uh, I interviewed a week or two ago Gretchen Whitmer.

Of course.

Uh.

But they said, we just cannot tolerate this endless attacks on business.

We lost some of the highest percentage of small businesses in the nation during the longest lockdown that Governor Whitmer put on these businesses.

So it's just, I think, catastrophic if we don't have victory in November.

And so it is back up and running, but we're going to keep working with the regulators, the local officials there, and we'll continue to share updates as we move forward with that response.

Enbridge got a letter from Governor Whitmer, and she said it's taken too long to build the tunnel for Line 5 in the Straits.

Your reaction to that letter?

Right.

And that's what it's keeping.

You know, to your point about the politics of this, Gretchen Whitmer, I think, had a pretty interesting way she approached it.

Whereas what I've read is she said, look, this is coming one way or the other.

Right.
