This court has long respected the media's role in our constitutional republic and honored the promises in both the Idaho Constitution and First Amendment of the United States.

Justice Gregory Moeller wrote in the decision, going on to quote a ruling from a federal case that said responsible press coverage guards against the miscarriage of justice by subjecting the court system and those who are part of it to public scrutiny.

And that's what I talk about all the time.

That's why I think it's so important for these kinds of matters to be as transparent as possible.

So here's sort of the, it was a three to five, Four to one decision, I believe.

Ultimately, Justice Gregory Moeller wrote in part that the, quote, revised statements are consistent with the views expressed in our prior opinion and that they also substantially comply with the requirements of Idaho Code 34-18-10-1B.

Chief Justice Richard Bevin, Robin Brody, and Cynthia Casey Meyer agreed.

Justice Colleen Zahn dissented, writing in part, quote, the revised yes statement substantially complies with Idaho Code Section 34-18-10-1B.
