So, yeah, I'm a Dominican priest in the province of St. Joseph.

That's the eastern province, the same province as Father Gregory Pine.

um who most people you know have like whenever they meet a dominican they're like oh my gosh do you know father gregory pine and like my memories of him are like him like just being totally ridiculous on camping trips and seminary and they're yeah anyway so i'm a he is an icon a true legend um And I serve at Providence College in Rhode Island, the only undergraduate school administered by the Dominican friars in the United States.

So our mascot is the friars.

Go friars.

So we can't be paralyzed out of a fear of not being worthy or perfect enough.

Father Gregory Pine was telling me recently, you know, the goal is sainthood, not sinlessness.

In other words, we can't stay hiding in a corner because the saints didn't hold back.

They loved big.

We're going to be talking about angelology and the Quranic And this is one of the top Arabic experts and Islamic scholars on the planet will be coming on.

We've got the man himself, the amazing priest, Father Gregory Pine, will be joining us for multiple shows.

We've got him set up for about three, four shows.

Certainly we, we grazed upon, I don't know if that like the, this topic, we had father Gregory Pine on who wrote his book on speech.

And certainly if somebody wants to take a deep dive in it, I think he, he's unpacked it thoroughly and quite well in a lot of, ways um and i look forward like for now i'm not going to say too much more than i look forward to also like the the diving into it because i think um particularly in like some popular classic like spirituality literature particularly from religious for religious to religious um there's this kind of this this this phrase this this concept of like idle talk and how that's problematic and there's a lot of sort of exhortation against idle talk but also there's this reality that um people are spending time together and they're going to spend a lot of time talking so just to kind of like wrestle with for for people like what i think is so important like you've done already like to establish okay here's here's this thing that's a gift and it's really important but also we have to be a good steward of it and now like what's this being a good steward of it look like so i look forward to kind of that next yeah diving into that do you want to add anything about pt

um maybe it's more comments for later uh but just as you're you're speaking father innocent like the the thought or the movement of heart that bubbled up is like sometimes like why do i feel the need to speak you know like when there's silence in the conversation maybe this is more towards the idle talk that you're talking about father mark mary um like what i feel the need sometimes to fill that space which is like interiorly there's this like uncomfortable space that i can hold and i just have to say something and oftentimes when i say something in that space it can like this is like a normal conversation maybe even two in prayer um like why is that and so yeah so anyway so maybe i'll just leave it let you continue and then we can further talk about that later

Yeah, I mean, I've heard many great things about your interactions with, with Gavin.

And I think what's important for anyone when we go and we share our faith, um, do not think, "Oh, well, I can't go out and share my faith with people because I can't quote the Summa or Aquinas like Father Pine, or I can't make arguments like Trent Horn." You know, 1 Corinthians 12, you know, uh, the hand says, "I can't do anything 'cause I'm not the foot." Well, look, if it was all feet, what kind of weird body is that gonna be? If it's all hands, what k- it c- if it's all Father Gregory Pines, what kind of body is that? If it's all Trent Horns, it, it's horrible.

Like, uh, I hope it never becomes that.
