so eleanor what are the we we don't talk about them by name that much we talk about like the uh we talk about the downstream effects of it a lot what are the gregorian reforms of the 11 and 12 centuries and how did that kind of start pushing us into the direction of like the uh let's call it the uh the less chill church the later medieval less chill church

Yeah, so we call them the Gregorian reforms because your friend and mine, Pope Gregory VII, brings them out.

And basically what is going on here is that, like, they are realizing that the clergy is kind of just doing, like, whatever.

at the time, right? And, um, one of the things that's kind of been going on is, like, before this, you'll kind of notice, like, 1073, like, the church had been kind of working pretty hand-in-glove, especially with, like, the emperors, uh, like the, you know, proto-Holy Roman Imperial Emperors, such as, uh, Charlemagne, et cetera, et cetera.

yeah yeah yeah this is a this is a constant and ongoing problem and um you know part of the issue is also like you know the church and by that we mean the pope might say that you can't be married, but it's like, yo, they're not doing that over in Constantinople.

Right? And because there isn't a differentiation, a hard differentiation yet, it's very difficult for them to do one thing or another about it.

And it is really the Gregorian reforms, as I say, that kind of ossified this and set it in stone.

Papal theologian historian Ignaz von Dolinger, the most famous papal historian, theologian, canonist at the time of Vatican I, in two pages destroys the entire papal system by noting that Gregory, in his Synod in 1080, Pope Gregory of the Gregorian Reforms, first uses Matthew 16 to say that he has the ability to take your kingdoms at will.

Who actually believes that Matthew 16, that Jesus' intent was to give the Bishop of Rome the ability to steal kingdoms? This is so retarded.
