And the answer when I asked Greg Berhalter about this post-game was that he wanted to ensure higher quality chances rather than just shooting, rather than just crossing.

He wanted to emphasize that crosses are statistically a very low probability chance.

And while that is true, when you're dealing with a situation where a coach who knows you very well, who worked for three years under your game model and knows what your approach is probably going to be, When he does that and makes it difficult for you, I think you need to adapt.

Well, and you mentioned you mentioned Johan Gomez.

I think I just want to circle back to put a bow on the thought is I think this is possibly I'm not going to say guaranteed, but there's a good chance that this is kind of the death of the 424 experiment.

I think that, like I've said many times in the last two months, there's often a point for Greg Berhalter in a cycle, in a season, where he goes away from that idealistic ideas he has and switches to the pragmatism.

And that's happened in basically every job, every cycle, every season he's had as a head coach.

I'm trying to think if there's any sports team.

We definitely have this band and this squad to be a playoff team.

There really should be no reason that we are fighting DC and Montreal in terms of points right now.

I just, for me, as a consumer of soccer, I really want whoever we get to be like, you know, the ideas of Berhalter and Nancy and, and the fact that we're going to try to play the game, we're not going to play counter.

It's going to, we're going to try to play pretty soccer.

So I couldn't go to some camps and then I had some injuries and so I was inconsistent with that, with, with the national team.

And, um, So then the World Cup came calling, and Greg at the time, Greg Berhalter, who was my coach from Columbus, was like, yeah, we're not calling you.

He was like, yeah, we're not going to take you.

And I think, yeah, I don't

And so, so got through that, um, and ended up having a good, really good year with Middlesbrough that year.

Um, So so then don't get called into the national team for a couple of years.

And then Greg gets fired from the national team, get a new coach in Pochettino.

And then he calls me and I get start get call ups again.

That's all I'm gonna say there.

In the absence of Hafsa, I would expect that it's Simon Betcher somewhere in one of those front three positions, and likely a start for Damian Downs, who is the big, um, pickup from, uh, St. Louis coming over from Europe that had USMNT bros crashing out that he could have gone to a bunch of teams in the championship, and yet he chose a crappy team in the middle of Midwest America, um, 'cause Midwest America and MLS are crap, just like how Columbus Crew and Chicago Fire are crap because they're connected to Greg Berhalter and therefore must suck.

Um, last thing that I wanna say, 'cause Spencer, you and I were talking about this off pod before Mark came on, um, I went to the Washington U- I went to Washington University in St. Louis for three years.

I got my master's degree there in chemical engineering.

And, and they have, you know, again, they bought Lewandowski.

They, they have Gregg Berhalter, who's been building something new there.

So instead of that, what you have in third and fourth is New England, who have a brand-new coach.

Their biggest signing is Jack Harrison, which, no offense, great player, but he's not Griezmann.

... it's, it's just inexcusable.

And, and it's, it, it makes me sad that the people who I thought were initially wrong about Ysa Tap and too angry too fast about him, in the same way I thought about Greg Berhalter, that they end up being right even if I disagree with how they reached their conclusion.
