Greg Roman

It's in LA against the New York Giants, uh, which is gonna be kind of like a, a, a game we didn't fully expect to be what it is, uh, you know, walking into this, 'cause the Giants looked really good.

And as much as I have not liked Matt Nagy all offseason long or Greg Roman, the one thing we have said though is if anybody can circumvent that potential being held back situation, it's Jackson Dart, because he's gonna go out there and facilitate the way he facilitates, and you can't really hold him back from making just cowboy throws.

He's just a, a wild man out, out there, and per start, he's, he's...

You must put him in your lineup.

And we haven't even seen, you know, them scratch the surface.

So I'm excited to see what other little tricks Greg Roman and Matt Nagy and Brian Callahan and Tim Kelly and all the offensive coaches and defensive coaches for that matter.

I'm curious to see what else they have because it was really, really creative and what a difference it makes.

When was the last time we could say that about a Giants team, right? All right.

And you don't, unfortunately, have Jesse Minter to cover up some of those deficiencies.

Everyone said, oh, 11 wins last year too, man, with Greg Roman.

Yeah, but they had Jesse Minter, and that defense kicked the crap out of a lot of people to make sure the Chargers could win a lot of their games.

They don't have that right now.

It's just kind of like, this is our plan and run it.

I don't know if that's the case.

I know Greg Roman gave Herbert final say, but they kind of trusted Bozeman to handle it and it didn't go well all the time.

But if this is how the Shanahan types operate, then we'll have to see how that goes throughout the season or not.

And they got up and, and, uh, I'll say this, [smacks lips] Jackson Dart looked really good.

I think the offense that they have built down there with Matt Nagy, but also they have Greg Roman-

Like, spacing.

Greg Roman, Todd Monken, spacing, spacing, spacing.

It's not clunky.

These guys end up far apart.

They're still there, but less static, more on the move, more YAC-oriented, and more under center pass game and under center offense.

So, um, they're still gonna retain, like, the arc read touchdown for Lamar Jackson to open it up.

Like, that's fucking Greg Roman.

That's Louisville.

And they got up and, and, uh, I'll say this, [smacks lips] Jackson Dart looked really good.

We were talking about this offline.

Greg Roman and other coaches maybe don't believe in doing as much of it.

And part of this is the reason.

It's a conservative perspective where, you know, we want to be able to go into hurry up and we don't want all of these procedural penalties because everything is so complicated.

Once Ladd went down, this game was basically all over, and we thought we had quite a deep group.

We now lose KLS to IR.

and so i go back to all right the first couple of plays looked good we were running the ball and joku got a couple but what happens when hits the fan i go i'm going back to two years and i'm going back to playing houston it's the lad mcconkey show because he's the only guy that can get open when things get hard and so that this is another negative that i have when i go well I thought the reason why we got rid of Greg Roman is because I've seen a lot of that.

And hey, when McConkie's hitting his stride and everyone's working, you go, awesome, great.

Jackson Dart looked really good.

I think the offense that they had built down there with Matt Nagy, but also they have Greg Roman.

They got a great offensive scheme.

Collaboration.

At the end, what's he criticized for? The end of things.

And when I look at the coaches, Greg Roman was one of the hottest candidates in the NFL.

And things quickly fizzled.

Todd Munkin wasn't one of the hottest candidates in the NFL, but it was like, oh, this guy, he knows what the hell he's doing in Georgia.

And maybe that's easier.

Maybe that's better.

Like Greg Roman obviously didn't light up the NFL afterwards.

Doesn't seem like Todd's off to a really good start in his next adventure.
