16:14
What caught your eye out there?
16:16
Yeah, there was a sale yesterday as we're recording this, Clinton.
16:20
So it would have been middle of the week, Wednesday, October 28th.
16:24
Kind of back to your way.
16:26
Yeah.
16:27
To the roots in Oklahoma.
16:28
Our friends at Armitage Equipment, Meeker, Oklahoma, had a sale with a high quality and a deep line of used tractors.

6 MINS LATER

22:45
Just like everything, everything's gone up.
12:15
What you got for the pick of the week?
12:17
Hey, pick of the week, let's go a very late model sprayer that sold last Tuesday.
12:21
Our good friends at DPA Auctions, of course, they sell a lot of sprayers every week.
12:25
But last week they had one from Evansville, Wisconsin that kind of caught my interest, Chip.
12:30
It was a 25 model John Deere 412R.
12:33
591 hours on it.
12:35
It did have the John Deere see-in spray.
15:16
Let's go north of the border up to Saskatchewan.
speaker_0NARRATOR
20:07
So
20:07
I guess what I'm seeing, Clinton, is just, again, because of some of these factors kind of swirling and escalating, you know, lack of solid footing.
20:19
But like, as you indicated, maybe the fuel payment could be a positive.
20:25
Basically, I think people are focused squarely on the used market and squarely on the really good condition used.
20:30
It's cutting through.
20:32
Prices are holding on the auction front.
20:36
I think a really good example of that, we saw last Friday, CA Tesh Equipment had their annual fall Forest Junction, Wisconsin consignment auction.

8 MINS LATER

28:41
What advice do you have for folks whenever they're getting ready to go out to auction to develop some sort of deal?
12:39
What have you got for the pick of the week, Greg?
12:42
Pick of the week, we're going to kind of focus on a few times on the segment today on 70s tractors in real good condition, what they've been doing.
12:49
Not necessarily collectors, but just solid pricing when the good ones show up.
12:55
So Saturday in Paulina, Iowa for the Ryan Bainbridge Farm Retirement Auction, sold by Iowa Auction Group.
13:01
They had a 77 model John Deere 4430 chip, had 5,902 hours on it, quad range.
13:08
Been in the family since new.
13:10
Sold real strong at $27,250.
14:40
It's amazing the consistency of those averages over the past 30 years, three decades.
18:49
Hey, as you, uh, talk about and visit with folks, what are they asking you this week? What kind of questions are you fielding from people?
18:57
Uh, people are just hitting me, Clinton, wondering the overall vibe, you know, used equipment pricing.
19:02
I- is it, uh, continuing that little bump up we saw, noticeable bump kind of through the summer months into early fall? As they may start to make their plans, when we get here in the middle of October, people can start to see and they know instinctively that November and December have become such busy times for equipment auctions.
19:24
Uh, people are wondering price trend movement, and I guess my answer there has been, you know, steady as she goes, um, same trend line.
19:34
I know we were monitoring a couple sales as we're recording this.
19:37
They were yesterday, uh, October 15th.
19:40
Um, just to provide a few data points, uh, sale kind of out in Northwest Iowa.

12 MINS LATER

32:09
Mm-hmm.
33:45
Regionally, have we seen any trends lately in terms of ag equipment, farm machinery, based on whether we're in Minnesota or the Midwest or we're all the way down in the southeast?
34:00
Yeah, again, great question, Clinton.
34:01
I would say kind of minimal.
34:05
Well, I would say it cuts on the condition of the equipment.
34:07
So if it's average-y kind of equipment, it comes out of what you would call the southern half of the U.S., and that's sort of always been the case over my 37 years.
34:18
But if you drift into the stuff we're focusing on Saturday on this auction in Louisville, Georgia, which is low-hour premium equipment, for example...
34:28
You've got like a, well, here I got a list.
35:54
I know it's early in really in the amount of time that we've had to deal with these much higher diesel prices, but shipping costs, I'm guessing to move that equipment from one part of the country to the other part of the equation, but is it, is it enough to be a determining factor? Is it still too early to tell?
11:43
It's an auction of the week, isn't it, Greg?
11:46
Yeah, I had so much fun, Chip, on Saturday.
11:48
I was in Southington, Ohio, and I apologize to the folks out there.
11:51
I'd been saying Southington, but it's Southington.
11:54
I was out there at the invitation of Chalkers Auction and Equipment and had so much fun Friday and Saturday hanging out.
12:01
I tell you what, Jason and Ashley Miranda, the owners of Chalkers Auction and Equipment, great, great folks.
12:08
Jason's grandfather, Leon, started the business in 1966, so 60 years ago.
12:50
yeah.
21:57
Mm.
21:57
Uh, people were dropping me notes about this, but they did set two records on John Deere tractors.
22:02
Uh, now one, Clinton, was a, was a 4430, which of course Deere made from '73 to '77, an iconic model.
22:11
Uh, you know, bazillion of them sold back in the, you know, that period in the '70s was, was really go time.
22:17
And, uh, so imagine how many I've seen sold at auction for 37 years I've been tracking them, and they had a beautiful '77 model.
22:25
I think 3,637 hours on it, quad range.
22:28
Went for 45,500 bucks.

9 MINS LATER

31:47
Yeah.
11:14
What do you got?
11:17
Well, the pick of the week quite often of late here has been a tractor I kind of grew up around, the 4440.
11:24
And that was a sale Friday out in western Iowa we need to focus on.
11:28
It was a sale by my good friends at Zomer Company Realty and Auction.
11:33
It was a retirement sale.
11:34
I think it was Dennis and Myrna Johnson, I believe, out of Akron, Iowa.
11:38
And they had a one-owner 79 model 4440 quad range, 3,651 original hours on it.

7 MINS LATER

18:21
How was it? What was the vibe down there in Louisville?
25:41
But is there anything different that you're thinking about considering or trying going into this fall and next year?
25:49
Well, one thing I've been working on during the last couple weeks is digging out one of our irrigation ponds that's by my house, making it deeper.
25:58
It's only the second year I've used it to irrigate out of, and so I'm excited to get that project kind of to its next phase.
26:08
I heard you guys talking about tile.
26:10
Irrigation is our tile here.
26:12
It's so valuable, and And just to be able to improve that field a little bit by deepening the pond and having some more access to more water is a good deal for us that I'm really looking forward to.
28:43
So since you do a lot of social media, a lot of media stuff, going to different farm shows, where are you headed? Do you have a full schedule coming up here this winter?
28:52
We have a few events coming up here in January, but for the most part, this will be the most clear our schedule has been since our very first video went viral in 2012, which some of that is just a natural decline of things.
4:59
What do you want to do?
5:01
I'm going to be taking a look at the over in this one, because we did see the Yankees actually really erupt with their offense here on Wednesday.
5:08
And additionally for cam shoulder, you mentioned it.
5:10
He's going to win the signing award, especially with Dylan sees, unfortunately getting shut down for that last starter too, for the blue Jays who have just been eliminated, but for Schlittler one, one for era away from them to 98 at home.
5:22
Now again, I mean, I wish that you could have any pitcher with a two 98 era home road on planet Pluto, what have you? I mean, either way you're doing a great job there, but that said with regards to the Tampa bay race team, I do think that they get to them just a little bit.
5:36
And for both of these teams, they use up a lot of that bullpen on Tuesday because they had they double dip in there.
5:42
So you've got a lot of tire bullpen pieces in this game.
9:40
How do you feel about Milwaukee as we head towards the month of October?
38:50
I love that.
38:51
So I do the free stuff.
38:54
I have been growing things and sharing it with neighbors.
38:59
Multiple neighbors this year have sweet potatoes growing and strawberries growing that I started for them.
39:06
Lovely.
39:08
And one of the things that I did with great success this past year was I grew potatoes in 15-gallon tree tubs.
39:19
Oh, really? Yeah.

6 MINS LATER

45:30
i have 999 episodes
12:45
Let's start with the pick of the week.
12:47
Yeah, pick of the week.
12:48
You know, a lot of weeks here, Chip, we talk about some pre-deaf, lower-hour stuff that, of course, really tracks big prices.
12:54
But strong pricing on very late model equipment I want to highlight from the past few days.
12:59
So on Friday, our friends at Big Iron had a John Deere dealer auction with some equipment from around the Midwest.
13:05
And they had, I believe it's the first John Deere 9RX 710 that sold in the U.S.
13:09
It was a 25 model, 402 hours on it with about a year left of warranty warranty.
14:31
What have you got there?
18:02
What is that looking like in terms of, you know, even demand and availability? Yeah.
18:07
Yeah, so Clinton, before we hop down here, I just mentioned, I just ran some numbers, really, really eye-opening.
18:13
So I don't like to talk in generalities.
18:17
If I'm talking to the farm audience, I'd like to back it up with our data.
18:22
I always have.
18:22
That's why I started doing this 37 years ago.
18:25
So there's different types of data.
22:08
Greg, as you look at this, do you consider this a structural change that this is kind of a new norm going forward? Or do you see anything kind of pulling back into what you saw more traditionally in terms of market setup? Or is it this consolidation situation that we've seen and that just changes the game?
15:11
Do we still get some run suppression potentially tonight?
15:15
Yep, you talk about a playoff atmosphere out there in Cleveland, and typically when you got a playoff atmosphere out there in Cleveland, that means that the temperatures are getting colder, the runs become harder to come by, and I'm looking at that here for this Tuesday.
15:29
I'm gonna be in on the under.
15:30
Foster Griffin has seen a little bit of regression here with Cleveland since getting dealt from the Washington Nationals in over a five ERA, but he does a relatively solid job keeping things out in front of him, as I like to tell it.
15:40
He's only giving up about 2.2, 2.3 walks per nine innings, and the bullpens for both of these teams down the stretch have been nails.
15:47
If you look since July 1st, both of these teams top five teams in terms of bullpen ERA, and Davis Martin has been sketchy away from home, an over five ERA away from home this year, but he's come out over his last two starts.
15:59
He's only given up one run, 11 in two-thirds innings in that time span.

5 MINS LATER

21:15
Geez.
11:13
What do you got for the pick of the week?
11:15
Pick of the week, about an almost 30-year-old combine really had folks talking chip.
11:19
It was Saturday, a farm auction for Ryman Hill Farms Dispersal in Nicopic.
11:25
I think that's how they pronounce it, Nicopic, Pennsylvania, by a sale by Fraley Auction Company.
11:30
Super, super sharp stuff on this auction, folks.
11:33
But the combine was a John Deere 9510 Sidehill.
11:37
Now, the 10-series combine, I think it was only made two years, like 98 and 99.
14:43
Dress it up a little bit.
3:55
I mean, in your opinion, Greg, is is the record a reflection of how this football team has played or is it maybe more a reflection of, as you say, some squandered opportunities?
4:07
I think it's totally squandered opportunities.
4:09
This team is better than their record, but they have to learn how to win in the tight teams, which they just haven't been able to do but for one game this year.
4:19
And it just seems like if the offense is doing good, the defense is not.
4:24
If the defense is doing good or the special teams, it's been a very frustrating year, to say the least, for Stampeder fans because they We've lost so many games where you can really say we lost a game.
4:37
The Stampeders lost a game.
4:38
The other team really didn't win it.
9:31
But, you know, taking things defensively from one game into the next year, into the rematch game, Greg, I wonder what you noticed that was positive about that first encounter, if anything.
22:35
Mm.
22:35
Uh, versus new.
22:37
Just, s- you know, it's, it's the same old yarn I keep talking about, but the rising price of new to the low- the price jumps we've seen have taken it to such a point that, uh, you know, any added pressure these days, uh, cost-wise, input-wise on farmers, again, it, it tends to push them to the used market.
23:00
And, uh, what's unusual this time that I, I really never seen before, Clinton, is the length of time, uh, this has stretched out.
23:13
Uh, now-
25:14
...
25:14
the government, the president wants, trying to kind of smash or bully the Fed into lowering rates, which w- you know, we understand why they wanna do that.
18:00
Can the tigers turn the trick again in the motor city here tonight?
18:05
Yep, and PA's last name spelt more like pie, so we're going to look to try to get ourselves a nice slice of pie on this game, and I think that's with the Detroit Tigers because Dean Kramer has given up two home runs per nine innings.
18:18
It has not been great for him to say the least.
18:20
It's been a little bit better with the Minnesota Twins, but for the Twins team, they just have been...
18:25
This jointed with that offense with Byron bucks and deal with injuries all throughout the second half of the season.
18:30
You've got two guys in Brooks Lee and Cody of Clements that give you some production, both at 22 plus home runs, but both give you less than a 300 on base as well.
18:39
And then for the Tigers, I know that it's been a little bit more shaky for them over the last few weeks.
22:02
Now, I am seeing that this total is starting to creep up a little bit, Greg, and maybe that's because they got word of what you're going to play here when it comes to this total today.
2:18
Let's start with the total today between the Braves and the Phillies.
2:22
Yep, early game here, and I like the over between Braves and Phillies.
2:26
This is going to be Grant Holmes going for the Braves, and man, he's been doing for a very long time.
2:33
A solid .362 ERA, but less than 7.5 strikeouts per 9 innings, over 3.5 walks per 9, and Aisles Lizardo has just really strange home and road splits.
2:44
Away from home, a sub .180 ERA really doesn't give up.
2:47
the deep ball more like 1.2 home runs per nine innings and a 452 era at home Braves are starting to find their swagger a little bit more on offense too nice comeback yesterday you got a Philly team that averaged nearly five runs per game at home I think that this is a really good spot for some runs and for the Braves they've been a little bit banged up with that bullpen as well so I do like the total of eight here.
3:09
If I actually had to play the side, I'd be looking at the Phillies on the run line.
3:33
How are you playing the Mets at the Marlins today?
10:48
Get us started with your pick of the week.
10:50
Yeah, I can't actually pick one this week, Chip, because there's honestly three or four or five.
10:56
But the market has kind of shaken loose from its moorings, and it's gone up another couple notches across the board.
11:04
So probably let's start off talking about a sale last Thursday.
11:08
Folks at Kraft Auction Service had their annual, it was day one of their annual two-day Labor Day sale in Walkerton, Indiana.
11:16
And I got a text from Jonathan Kraft last Thursday evening.
11:20
He's like, Pete, look at this.

6 MINS LATER

17:01
it's become an inventory issue out there in the, in the used market again, hasn't it?
30:35
Let's start with the total today between the Braves and the Phillies.
30:39
Yep, early game here, and I like the over between Braves and Phillies.
30:43
This is going to be Grant Holmes going for the Braves, and, man, he's been doing for a very long time.
30:50
A solid 362 ERA, but less than 7.5 strikeouts per 9 innings, over 3.5 walks per 9, and Aisles Lizardo has just really strange home and road splits.
31:01
Away from home, a sub-180 ERA, really doesn't give up the deep ball, more like 1.2 home runs per 9 innings, and a 452 ERA at home.
31:10
Braves are starting to find their swagger a little bit more on offense too.
31:13
Nice comeback yesterday.
31:50
How are you playing the Mets at the Marlins today?
29:36
Let's start with the total today between the Braves and the Phillies.
29:40
Yep, early game here, and I like the over between Braves and Phillies.
29:44
This is going to be Grant Holmes going for the Braves, and, man, he's been doing for a very long time.
29:51
A solid 362 ERA, but less than 7.5 strikeouts per 9 innings, over 3.5 walks per 9, and Aisles Lizardo has just really strange home and road splits.
30:02
Away from home, a sub-180 ERA, really doesn't give up the deep ball, more like 1.2 home runs per 9 innings, and a 452 ERA at home.
30:11
Braves are starting to find their swagger a little bit more on offense too.
30:14
Nice comeback yesterday.
30:51
How are you playing the Mets at the Marlins today?
26:32
What did you make this game? What did you go ahead and play here between the Nationals and the Dodgers?
26:37
A little bit of a side note, by the way, man, it's so nice to have this late night Sunday game because typically you're done so early.
26:44
So I love these games and I took a shot on the nationals on the money line.
26:48
Justin Robulski ever since making the all-star team and being in the all-star game has been absolutely terrible for the Dodgers in 28 innings.
26:56
He's given up 12 home runs.
26:58
Andrew Alvarez, I really think has potential here moving forward.
27:02
I mean, obviously he's not going to be anything special this year, but he's posting up a three 40, 70 or eight.
28:20
But if the Phillies want to win this division or even have a chance to win this division, it feels like this is a must-win game for them, Greg.
28:04
I am also... on the Phillies here today, and Aaron Nola, who has seemed to have righted the ship there over the last month or so.
28:12
Yep, a guy from the great state of Louisiana, so I'm sure you've got a little bit of affinity for him, and he has really righted the ship here recently.
28:20
Things were looking disastrous for him through, I would say, the first three, three and a half months of the season.
28:26
Three earned runs or fewer allowed now in each out of his last seven starts, and I still have question marks with Tyler Molle.
28:33
He has been really good since coming over to the Atlanta Braves, sub 175 ERA in his last five starts since getting traded over there.
28:40
But if you look at starts not made at Oracle Park this season for him, 548 ERA goes up against a Phillies team that has hit much better when they have been at home rather than away from home.
28:50
about five runs per game at home, four runs per game away from home.
31:34
Okay, so you are going to step in front of the freight train, which is the Toronto Blue Jays, and they have now surged above 500, this Toronto Blue Jays team, in a wildcard spot currently, this Toronto Blue Jays team, but you are going to back the Royals today.
