So what do you what's the difference? Are you kind of talk about doing, you know, investigation before investment? But like what is what is it someone should be looking for in the due diligence process? And are there any red flags that they need to kind of be looking for?
17:10
Yes, George, quite a few different things to look for in there, especially when you're looking through the franchise disclosure documents, which is one of the things that makes the franchising transparent.
17:18
What you want to see in there, and most people, when they look at the franchise disclosure documents, they want to go to their item 19, which is their financial disclosures, and see what people are making because they want to know what they can make.
17:29
We all want to know what we can make with that.
17:32
But under item number 20, which is the number of franchises that are currently running the business and the ones that have started it and are no longer running it, that's where you can really see the growth rate on there.
17:41
So you want to see, and they'll show the growth rate.
17:43
They'll usually break it down by state on there.
21:30
How would you view using franchising to become kind of a long-term wealth strategy in your portfolio?
18:54
Is that what you're
18:56
saying? So how it works is that as a franchise consultant, you can do it independently and you can get contracts with different franchises.
19:03
that if you refer somebody to them and that person then purchases a franchise through them, they'll send you a referral fee.
19:09
However, there's broker or consultant organizations where they go out and they do the contracts.
19:14
So now you've got two or 300 different franchises that you work with.
19:19
And the consulting organization already has contracts with each one.
19:24
And then they have a nice listing on their webpage, nice way to filter through it so you can pick them out.
20:25
When you give the franchise the information about this person that wants to buy into their franchise, can they say no?
4:28
Would we be able to do that?
4:29
Yeah, to some extent, I sure will.
4:31
They don't always tell me how much, but I can get you a ballpark figures of what they're worth.
4:35
So I had a couple that were looking into a husband and wife.
4:40
The gentleman came to me, he's working full time.
4:42
The wife, she ran the rental properties on there and he wanted to do something on the side.
4:49
So since they had a good background in real estate, we looked at a lot of the essential services, plumbing, electrical, HVAC, restoration type things.
9:24
Is it really possible to do it part-time? Do a lot of people try part-time and then move to full-time? What does that look like? Or is it totally industry dependent too on which ones could actually be part-time versus full-time? Yeah.
