what is up and welcome back to another episode of the wizards podcast i'm yours greg finberg and in today's episode we're going to be breaking down the point guard position it's a new series it'll be a pretty brief series considering there's only a couple of positions to preview but It'll be a series where I'll take you through the ins and outs of each position the Wizards have, whether it's point guard, shooting guard, battles at small forward and power forward, and then eventually at center.

We're going to do our best within the next four or five episodes to break down exactly What you should expect from that position group, whether it's training camp competitions for the starting or backup roles, whether it's just a matter of how do you expect this player to play in this role? How should that player adjust or adapt to the new system, new teammates, etc.? ? So hopefully this series can serve as something to prepare you guys and preview this season, but also each position group and what to expect as training camp nears.

I mean, it's about a week away from media day and training camp starting for most NBA teams.

You have your maybe eight guys you could say are your main key contributors for the 2026 season.

And we'll break all that down with Greg Finberg actually tomorrow night.

We're going to have him on the podcast to kind of detail.

We've already gone past a lot of the major milestones of the offseason whether it's the Wizards getting the number one pick in May's draft lottery whether in June.

It's them selecting AJ DeBonsa and Felix Okapara in the draft, whether it's July and free agency and signing a couple of guys trading for guys like Aiton and Middleton, whether it's summer league where DeBonsa looked awesome, some other players like Trey Johnson and Will Riley played well, or the latter part of the off season where you just saw them make it in along the margins trade to acquire Trey Mann and send out Cam Whitmore and Julian Reese.
