Greg Carvel

But that's, that's sort of our job, right, is-

And, and, and Coach Carvel saying, "Look, I'm happy with the progress, especially of our young players game to game." And now you're seeing period to period like we did on Saturday.

Yeah.

And I think if you view that Friday game in a vacuum, right, you're saying, "Okay, we put out 50 shots.

Top two? Uh, I, I'm gonna say, uh, can I just, how about all the firsts? So Maxime Masse, first career goal.

Ethan Eskett, first career win, and, uh, Colson Hanrahan.

Greg Carvel had a great line, by the way, in our post-game interview Saturday, where I asked about Hanny scoring, and he said, "I set the line with him, the over under at 6.5, and I, uh, he's gonna take the over." Um, so I, I love the fact that Carve backs Colson-

What would you take?

But goaltending let them down, uh, and then things got out of hand, uh, in that third period, and that's why you get that, that lopsided scoreline.

So, uh, Greg Carvel-

Yeah, it was-

... called it humbling.

Um, and, and they were a good team.

And I think now if you're a UMass fan, you root for them the rest of the year to run the table in the NCHC.

I know no coach ever wants to lose, but if there's a coach that finds value in losses, it's Coach Greg Carvel.

And I think he, he builds, he can build his team up from, from these types of, of contests.

That will get sorted out.

Greg Carvel's a really good coach.

That will get sorted out.

Uh, I, that, some of that takes some time.

On the, on the second night I thought some of the goals were, were bad goals and they were, they were an issue of goaltending.

So Greg Carvel probably has a lot of teachable moments out of those two, uh, game films.

Um, maybe saw a few good things, uh, but there's, there's plenty of questions about UMass.

Uh, but CC, uh, you know, they were picked sixth in the preseason media poll in the NCHC.
