Greenvolt

Instead of talking or writing about it, this week I went offshore to see the largest grid-connected floating offshore wind farm in the world, the 50 megawatt Kincardine project off Aberdeen in Scotland.

Developer Flotation Energy brought myself and a couple of hardy journalists to the site to talk about what it has learned from operating the five turbine wind farm, and how all of that applies to unlocking a delivery plan for the 560 megawatt Greenvolt floater, which is much further offshore and more technically challenging.

Flotation hopes to reach FID on Greenvolt in 2027, and is deep into engineering design and procurement, which we'll hear about later in the podcast.

But before going offshore, on dry land I wanted to understand more about what has been a challenging operations phase for Kincardine since its completion in 2021.

What will be the biggest challenge, do you think? Will it be that operational O&M period for the big projects? Will it be-
