yeah exactly and again there's a theme isn't there that maybe that's what you know i think it's amazing record and again it's something that was i suppose the one really positive thing of i think of the digital age and the internet is that things that previously would have been you know national or regional or local records the internet has allowed real kind of, you know, record collectors share all this music and it's become, you know, it's gone beyond the local restrictions it had at the time.
Hue WilliamsGUEST

This was comped on like David Byrne's label or something, I think.
Hue WilliamsGUEST
46:45
so i would have heard this 10 12 years ago whenever it came out and then actually back to green man festival i saw there was a group of musicians who played this is around this at the time this came up came out who played the formed the band and played a lot of the songs from this at green man So it was, you know, the guy from Hot Chip and Green from Skritti Politti, Money Mark from the Beastie Boys and a couple of other people.
Hue WilliamsGUEST

And I was introduced to Ceri's Havana at the Green Man Festival in Wales in August this year and usually at the Green Man Festival there's a ceremonial burn of the effigy of the Green Man and people write wishes on tags and when these get incinerated it's meant to make your wishes come true and this year they couldn't burn the Green Man because of the wildfires but they wanted to do something appropriately celebratory and Keri Savannah was the musician that performed and alongside her they had a dancer suspended from a crane above the green man and the first dancer that they had had this incredible dress it was sort of armatured and floaty and she looked like a jellyfish with strips of LED and the next dancer that they had, or it might have been the same dancer, there was an outfit change, was covered in mirror balls so she was a human mirror ball which was Really awesome.
ScarlettHOST

And I cried and cried and cried watching her because it was so painstakingly beautiful.
ScarlettHOST

Um, and then I've always en- quite enjoyed the festivals, so, you know, like a, a longer three-day, four-day festival, so festivals like Womad, Green Man, and End of the Road, and, and the, and the Reading Festivals in the '70s were pretty legendary.
Simon BevanGUEST
29:05
Um, so I saw bands like The Jam, Patti Smith, Iggy Pop, The Ramones, uh, then.
Simon BevanGUEST
29:14
