Green Book

When I first met him in his tent in Seba in the middle of the desert, he said, well, you wrote a big book and I wrote a big book.

And this meaning the green book that he, you know, where he outlined his third way between communism and democracy.

And I'd much rather talk to you than to talk to Mubarak or Assad or any of these other Middle Eastern leaders.

And he had this ridiculous narcissism that he was a great thinker as well as being a dictator.

It really was a zero-sum situation.

They weren't creating wealth in the way that Bill Gates was creating wealth.

But the second time I went to talk to him about his political system, it's like there's a tape recorder in his head, and if you triggered it, you get this long monologue about how the Green Book had defined a new form of democracy, and it was better than anybody else, and there's just no moving him off that subject.

So I said, okay, fine.
