And by February 1651, another committee was planning invasion fleets for Barbados and Virginia.

Plans to invade Jersey also seemed to be under consideration during this period.

Over centuries, Bermuda served as a strategic Royal Navy outpost.

Early sailors called it the Isle of Devils, misinterpreting the calls of native cahow birds as eerie wails of demons, fueling its mysterious reputation.

Florida, the Triangle's western point, was originally home to the Tequesta and Calusa peoples.
