Graystripe

We are at the Full Moon Gathering.

Lionblaze sits between Sorreltail and Graystripe, feeling as though he can't get enough air.

It's been a very hot summer.

It hasn't rained in a long time.

So, yeah.

Surprise! Firestar picks Squirrelflight to be a mentor after she told all those lies about them being her kits.

Firestar knows what he's doing, Graystripe says.

And Lionblaze winces as he realizes that Graystripe heard every word.

Which is chill of him, you know? He's never ratted out anyone, as far as I know.

Even when it probably would have served him, like, even Graystripe.

Like, he never told on Graystripe.

Nope.

So, but I think the gals have come to the conclusion that we need to go home.

We wrote on like a about what our warrior names are.

And they have different warrior names like Fireheart and Graystripe and...

What else? Like Dark Knight and things like that.

Lionheart.

Firestar says yes, but does not explain any further.

Thornclaw exchanges a swift glance with Willowpelt, and Thornclaw says that Graystripe suggested that he take Sootpaw out with him today because Longtail can't mentor him because of his eyes.

Firestar feels a pang of guilt at this.

He has not thought about Sootpaw's training because he's been distracted, again, by Sky Clan.

He was supposed to protect them, not let cats die when he was with them.

Even he can't save everyone, my poor, poor child.

When he reached the clearing, Graystripe and Sandstorm were sitting together by the fresh-kill pile.

They exchanged a questioning glance when they spotted him.

He wonders again who they are and what they're doing here.

Quote, "Hey, Firestar," Graystripe called from the foot of the Great Rock.

"Are you going to stay up there all night?" Firestar gave himself a shake.

He couldn't go on like this.

These cats had stalked him through his dreams, and now they were haunting him in the waking world as well.

He had to find out why, and if Cinderpelt couldn't help him, there might be other cats who could.

He leaped down to where Graystripe was waiting for him with Sandstorm, Brambleclaw, and the rest of the Thunder Clan warriors.

"Graystripe, I want you and Sandstorm to lead the clan back to camp." "Why? Where are you going?" Firestar took a deep breath.

Where should we start?

Let's start with Graystripe's Adventure, featuring art by James L. Barry.

Ah, yes.

Graystripe is ThunderClan's deputy and one of the most beloved characters in the whole series.

Yep.

During the third book of the new prophecy arc, he is unexpectedly abducted by Twolegs, which is the clan term for humans.

It basically functions as a classic road trip story, sort of blended with a romantic comedy.

It really does.
