Grayson Wilson

There are people out there saying bench him.

I heard people telling me again in the comments and on social media, put in Grayson Wilson.

No offense to Grayson Wilson, and I'm not bashing him at all.

But right now, Mason McKenzie gives you the best chance of winning.

And the way he's progressing, he's earned to be on the field.

And that'll be terrifying because what comes next? It looks to me, it looks like Femi Babalola is going to be next because he came out.

But maybe that was just because he could run the ball better than Grayson Wilson.

But whatever the case may be, it was really interesting that when Mason missed that one play, which he did miss against Cincinnati too, and that game Wilson came in, this game Babalola came in.

So that was interesting.

He was a backup at Arkansas.

He's an sec guy made huge numbers in our, in Arkansas high schools, like go for Grayson Wilson.

Well, Grayson Wilson can't really run like Mason McKenzie can, and you don't have really much talent up front.

So you're taking away the one thing your offense can kind of do, which is run the football if you do that.

So I don't think that's the answer, and people get really mad at me when I say that.

He has not shown to be very effective in terms of his passing so far.

So the question then goes to, well, do you bench him? Do you go to Grayson Wilson and try to start him to see if he can kickstart this offense? I firmly believe right now that that is not the answer.

I do not believe benching McKenzie is going to do much.

First of all, just from a cultural perspective of that team, What better way to lose your locker room than benching a guy that they have all rallied behind? You heard it from me.

And that leads to my big point here.

Yes, his arm is inaccurate.

But if you go to Grayson Wilson, you're going to lose...

The one thing that is sort of working for this offense, which is Grayson, Mason McKenzie's ability to run the football.

Getting points again, the red zone issues, self-inflicted issues with quarterback play.

Like, I'm worried that Mason McKenzie is not going to develop enough that he's going to be effective.

And if he isn't effective, when do you pull the trigger? When do you go to Grayson Wilson? When do you, I don't even know where he's at right now.

Cause we don't practice a close, but do you go to family of Avalola? Cause he, you know, he's a big, big, big, big kid and got a big rocket arm.

Many you mentioned, but I want to just highlight two.

Grayson Wilson.

I imagine that Mason is going to probably play a lot.

I think they're just going to want to get him as many snaps as they can.

But as we saw against Cincinnati...

Mason McKenzie is one suplex away from, you know, going to the, to the sideline.

So I would love to see just how Grayson Wilson looks just, and I know it's the FCS, but like, you know, how's he look throwing the ball down the field? What's he looking like doing all that stuff.

And then Nolan Ray, he played two snaps last week.

It's just not going to happen at Boston College.

Now, at the same time, we felt like we found in Mason McKenzie and Grayson Wilson and Femi Babalola, we found three really good that we believe are going to be very good for us.

So we have to continue to try to understand the philosophy of Boston College and win in that philosophy.
