And Dr.

Grant Woods has done videos on that on, uh, GrowingDeer, uh, TV's, uh, s- YouTube and social media channels, showing footage over a couple seasons of, like, does and bucks that they shot with a bow, and, like, how much they would drop if they had their head up versus their head down feeding.

If their head down was feeding, they could drop a lot more, 'cause they're already got, like, center of gravity's kind of lower, a little bit lower-

Yep

So it's like, what does that, what does that mean? Does it mean that they're seeing the arrow first, and they're, that's what they're actually ducking at? Like, people are trying to quiet down their bows a lot, but r- in reality they're ducking the actual sight of the arrow, that fast movement, because in that episode we alto- also talk about how their eyesight is geared up to catch, like, quick, subtle movements like that.

That's how they avoid predation in the wild, and they, their eyes are literally made to detect movement.

And even when they're down feeding, uh, going, like, to Grant Woods' point about when they got that head down, they can duck faster-

Cause I do remember, um, you know, you know, first time I've heard about your name was back in the day with, uh, the great Dr.

Grant Woods and all.

And he was always talking about, uh, don't do it don't be nipping at them all the time especially over a food source because you're just gonna make them so wild you're gonna mess up your hunting he said go on and get it over with maybe you can do it all in the morning or something but whatever you do just go ahead hammer them get it over with and then you'll have a better hunting season and you're doing the best thing for your deer herd would you agree with that yeah definitely yeah i thought so it made sense i just had never had the discipline to do it quite like i should have

Yeah.

People that I trust, like Dr.

Grant Woods, who's actually a dear biologist, he's concerned about it.

That's concerning to me.

I don't have a background in it, but the things that he tells me, that's concerning.

And today we're joined by Dr.

Grant Woods.

Yep.

And, you know, today here we sit as Fourth Arrow and, you know, really our claim to fame is our camera arm systems.

And so much of that goes back to you just giving that simple free advice, right? to a bunch of guys who had no idea what we were doing.

And so we always look back and go, yep, good old Grant Woods.

If he wasn't honest with us, we wouldn't have ever thought about where we were at and some of the opportunities that God was putting in front of us.
