He says potential Sabonis deal for Charlotte in terms of getting Sabonis under Charlotte Hornets.

He said the Kings will receive Dorton Finney-Smith, Grant Williams, Tijon Salon, a potential 2027 first-round pick for Miami, and potential first-round pick swaps for Minnesota in exchange for Damanis Sabonis.

Now, this trade for me, honestly, is it's not it.

As of right now, I think we need to treat Sabonis as a player that needs to be sell low, get as much or take in his contract as best as we can.

If we are going to get him, if Jeff Peterson is hyper-focused on getting him, we need to sell low or pretty much buy low.

and get him for a solid price, if not a good price, to the point where we're only giving up second-round picks as much as possible for him, in a sense, or we're trading with expiring contracts and giving another player an opportunity to pretty much go to another team and try to build off of something such as Tijon, right? and after that point on, I don't think anything is needed, right? Grant Williams' aspiring contract, Norton Finney-Smith, is probably a favorable contract as of right now.

Only has to take one year of his deal.

Like, Sian James might have to fight for a rotation spot.

Grant Williams may have to fight for a rotation spot, although I think based on his play last year, he should get one.

Uh, Tejon Salon, probably, like, the number six pick, whose, whose team option going forward is kind of a big deal for them, um, like, an interesting decision.

I don't know if it's a no-brainer.

One way or another, Steinbach is going to get on the court and some of those minutes are going to come at Coltbranner's expense.

Paired with Naz Reid and Grant Williams being both options for small ball five and s- Coltbranner 21.4 minutes per game last year and 31 starts from last season, they are both gonna come down with the Charlotte Hornets club as it is.

That does not mean though that the 24-year-old is less than important to Charlotte rotation, but his minutes is likely going to be matchup dependent as they were last season.

With Coltbranner's sheer size and height, the Hornets are going to need him against teams with bigger centers and front court, especially with Moussa Diabate and Steinbach both being undersized for typical fives.

In return, Charlotte added Naz Reid, Grayson Allen, Royce O'Neale, Dennis Schröder, Dorian Finney-Smith, a bunch of draft picks, and two first-round picks or two first-round rookies in Hannes Steinbach and Christian Anderson.

So this isn't a young normal rebuild that should be expected to lose 60 games.

Kobe White is 26, Naz Reid is 27, Grayson Allen's 30, Dennis Schröder is 32, Royce O'Neale is 33, and Grant Williams is 27 as of right now.

At the same time, Kon Knipple, Brandon Miller, Ryan Coltberner, T.J. Leon, Liam McNeely, Hannes Steinbach, and Christian Anderson give them a genuine interesting young core.
