Yeah, I'm expecting, like, defense just to kind of – I mean, show us more of what we, you know, can do.

Like you said, Alex Afari, like, you know, Grant Godfrey, like Ty Brown.

I want to see a Ty Brown pick six.

Like, I want to see something just absolutely electrifying.

Bo Barnes is playing good football.

They're not taking Grant Godfrey off the field.

So he's linebacker three.

Now – There's certain packages to your point.

Tavion Gadsden, McQueen, Humphrey, Grace, Jaden Williams.

Then you got Jordan Costell, Ty Bryant, Grant Godfrey on the back end.

We've already seen it.

Sam Green, who played really well this past weekend.

I think, you know, Mark's troops did not leave the cover bare.

They retained some talent from Ty Bryant down to Grant Godfrey, Tavian Gadsen, and Mike Weiss, Humphrey Grace.

They had some dudes in there.

But I think we just wondered – All right, but what's Jay Bateman's defense going to look like? He kept it state secrets.

You've got two NFL players up front.

two of the most experienced safeties in the SEC, two twitchy, aggressive cornerbacks that can break on the ball.

Grant Godfrey looks like a really fluid linebacker who's very comfortable playing in space, and Bo Barnes is shooting the gaps.

I mean, Aaron Gates looks like he has all the tools to be a really good player at his position.

He's got two interceptions, team high in the year, 29 tackles, team high.

A- and then even this Grant Godfrey, number 22.

They're flying all over the place, but they're playing within this scheme that works because of that defensive front three that's exceptional.

So you look at this schedule, you look at the confidence on the offensive side, the confidence at the quarterback position.

Didn't play great, but yeah, Garrett.

Alec Tafari was... being like just he was just wreaking havoc on defense like just being everywhere the ball was and if he can do what he did last year I mean he probably ain't gonna do what he did last year he's taken I mean he he got added to this team late like I'm not expecting him to be our best defensive player but um that's good backup help from him we got Bo Barnes we got Grant Godfrey back there in that linebacker room so I mean we got a lot of good linebackers and Just do just just disrupt the quarterback.

Just get in the backfield.

Do what you did last year.

Much-needed starting power to the cornerback room or corners we can spot in the defense.

He's probably our best corner, so getting him back will definitely help.

And then Afari, our linebacker depth, like Logan said, with Bo Barnes and Grant Godfrey with him now looks great.

I mean – Being able to substitute those guys in, I mean, Godfrey had a huge sack against Bama that set up the tip six.

But these two guys can definitely play.

Going on to the linebackers, you got Grant Godfrey, who's the mic, very active.

He was very impressive on film.

I thought he did a great job all over the field making plays.

And we've heard a couple Texas A&M references this year too.

You know, we've heard a player like Grant Godfrey, the green helmet comm guy.

Jay Bateman compared him to Torian York.

So that was one.

That's where the linebackers struggle is.

They don't have a ton of depth there.

I would also clarify for any A&M listeners, especially with God for being compared to Torrey and York, For those who don't know Grant Godfrey, his dad was a 12-year NFL player.

He's very, very smart, high football IQ.

He only ended up playing three snaps in the season opener.

But Grant Godfrey and Bo Barnes, the transfer from Texas, both of those guys played really well against Youngstown State.

And so Afari, he might end up starting or he might end up just rotating, but they got those three guys and I think one other player.

So they got like a good stable of linebackers, but... you know, defensively up front from a depth standpoint, you know, I mean, what do you got? I think Tavian Gadsen is a very, very good player.
