Grant Fink

You had to be the top dog just to get into October, so that was really special from '90 to '92 in Pittsburgh when they had that run.

But I think now, uh, when you go through the grind every day and watch these guys, starting in spring training, uh, watch the thousands of ground balls that José Ramírez takes from Rudy Odor, watch the thousands of flips that Grant Fink does with the hitters, and, and, and you just watch, uh, the day in and day out commitment that these players have, Steven Kwan, Gavin Williams, Parker Messick, up and down the lineup and, and roster and pitching staff, it makes last night really special because, uh, y- you understand.

And, and all I had to do was listen to the first couple of minutes of the show and it just reinforces how special what we're living through in Cleveland is because I know Pirate fans have been dying for a winner, dying to, to be able to watch their guys pop champagne a- and have fun.

And so you try to never take it for granted, even though it has been three years in a row for this club.

You know, they have been better in that regard.

I was talking, ironically, to Grant Fink, the hitting team.

coordinator and the hitting coach for Cleveland before the game about that and he had said he felt like the last two months they had gotten much better in that situation because they weren't anxious that they weren't just chasing off speed and that they were doing a much better job of reminding themselves they're not in trouble the guy on the mound's in trouble but last night thought the club got a little anxious you know what it's September it's Six games to go, trying to hold on to a one-game lead.

I mean, these guys aren't robots.

[laughs] They-

Grant Fink.

Yes.

They are out there playing their ass off and doing everything they can to make the playoffs, and we have a reason to watch them.
