And now for construction reports.

Grand Traverse County, Michigan is seeking an independent consultant to perform pre-architectural jail and justice system planning and help the county determine the appropriate size, operational model, and long-term programming for a new detention facility.

The consultant will review and update the county's prior findings, including a 2008 Corrections Master Plan and a 2015 National Institute of Corrections Jail and Justice System Assessment using current data, correctional standards, and present-day community needs.

Submittals are due September 18th.

It was very ironic that Monique would end up in some alcohol-related shenanigans of her own.

It all started when, in June of 2026, she got arrested for trespassing at a CVS store in Grand Traverse, Michigan.

According to the police, she had stolen some alcohol there, locked herself in the bathroom, and drank the entire bottle before the police could get there and pull her out.

She was trespassed from the store and taken to the hospital, given that her blood alcohol level was a whopping .314, over a tripled illegal limit

Her body is discovered in a place called Hoosier Valley.

Which is a very rural stretch of Grand Traverse County's Blair Township.

Yeah, very rural.

And it wasn't a coordinated, you know, grid by grid police search party that found her.

We are witnessing a fundamental paradigm shift in what it means to, quote unquote, get away with murder.

Right.

And to underscore just how historic and rare this specific victory is, Marty Link quotes Captain Chris Clark, who heads the Grand Traverse County Detectives, alongside Prosecutor Mogenberg.

And what did they say?

You've got to understand the African-American vote around Detroit.

You also have to understand where the disaffected white liberals are, which actually, interestingly enough, is where I am right now, which is up in northern Michigan, Leelanau County, Grand Traverse County, a few other of the counties that have gotten more progressive over the past couple of cycles, whether they'll really turn out for El-Sayed.

There is something happening in Michigan, I think, that is very interesting, which is The middle is revolting against Al-Sayed in the way they wouldn't have against Haley Stevens.

And I think there's a lot of people who are not happy with Donald Trump but are willing to come out and vote for Mike Rogers.

Or are they? One that got up and running last year called Prism News recently disappeared into thin air.

Prism emerged promising to cover Grand Traverse County, but there were a lot of things about it that seemed a little off.

Max Howard of Interlochen Public Radio has been looking into Prism's life and seeming demise, and he joins us now.

Well, I, I came across it in the process of my reporting, you know? I mean, I look online, um, to see what other people are reporting, what's being talked about online.

Um, you know, and in Grand Traverse County, there's a Facebook, uh, group.

I started noticing these Prism stories, uh, you know, these links being put in that group first.

We're heard on the radio, of course, there.

Grand Traverse County, Calhoun County, everywhere.

And you've got 6.8 million customers, as I understand it, of the 10 million residents we have in Michigan.

Yeah, so really the projects are happening all across the state.

She got arrested, she got handcuffed, she got checked for weapons.

Now, in the police report, deputies note that she had difficulty getting into the squad car.
