Grain Valley

Which is why I didn't move it.

And then Grain Valley won Open Class 1.

And is Grain Valley Camdenton's rival?

rival?I would say the closest thing to it, yes.

'Cause they-

Number two.

Let's go to Independence, where Grain Valley Chief of Police Ed Turner is set to return to Independence next month as the new police chief.

Turner worked for Independence for 25 years, rose to the rank of major before leaving for Grain Valley.

He will start back in Independence on October 26th.

He probably heard that story we were talking about yesterday with the former police chief, Adam Dustman, making $190,000 since he resigned and being like, how do I get that deal?

Yeah, interesting, man.

He was probably on the fence being like, yeah, do we do this? Wait, the guy made $190,000 after he resigned? How quickly can I run to that job? So he's going back to Independence where he will be the police chief.

Took over at Grain Valley in February of 23.

Raytown is, uh, you know, hosting Fort Osage this week.

They're coming off a huge win over Grain Valley last week.

They're 4 and 0.

Um, and not only did they get the win last week, but they did it under extremely tough circumstances after one of their players was shot and killed, uh, outside of the school, uh, last Wednesday.

Uh, and, and they really, um, physically dominated Grain Valley, and they've got a, a receiver by the name of Buster, who's, who I was told by the person who co- covered the game for us that no one at Grain Valley could cover.

Wow.

Um, he was just able to go out there and do that, and Raytown really is looking like a team, uh, that could, uh, really maybe possibly go deep this season.

Hang in there.

Uh, John is in Grain Valley.

John, you're on KCMO.

Hey, good morning, Pete.

Yeah, my name is Philip Corder, and this is my 25th year of education.

I'm the head softball coach, teach American history and psychology, also an assistant track coach at Grain Valley High School in Grain Valley, Missouri, just outside of Kansas City, and really excited to be a part of this today.

Thanks for having us.

Yeah, you bet.
