And in history, they had a visiting professor from London, and the course he taught took place in London, and you went to London and st- lived there for a month, and he took you all around and showed you all these incredible things.

While I was there, they had this big international racing car show that they have there every year, I guess, and they were celebrating Graham Hill's World Championship for '68, and I went to that thing, and I got even further immersed.

And then I saw that they had races going on out at Brands Hatch while I was there.

So I figured out and got on a train, and went out to just basically club racing at the Brands Hatch racetrack where the Formula 1 cars ran.

And the F1 graphic listed 1976, James Hunt, 1977, Mario Andretti, 1978, Mario Andretti, 1979, Jacques Lafitte, 1981, Jacques Lafitte.

I don't think that's correct, which also means we missed from the list 1968, Graham Hill, 1970, Jackie Stewart, 1972, Emerson Fittipaldi Sr., 1974, Niki Lauda.

The Hunt and Andretti entries onto the list are correct.

And then 1979 was actually Patrick Depayet who ran the race.

Right.

And, uh, they had some chap in it called, um, oh, Graham Hill.

Uh, he was, he was doing quite well in Formula 1 at the time.

Uh, in fact, he was... went on to be world champion that year.

So again, you know, top drivers they were able to draw.

And there's a great story of Graham Hill coming down the Mulsanne, which was a three-mile straight in those days, no chicanes, as it still should be.

Just say that as an aside.

Um, and they were doing well over 180, 85 miles an hour, yeah.

I think that that series of books is super helpful.

Like, I went and read about Fangio, and, like, um, Graham Hill, and all these people from- Yeah ... eras that we, we just don't really hear talked about, even if you're watching the races and the commentaries.

Uh, unless you have someone like a Martin Brundle or a Jackie Stewart come on, there's really not often time.

Well, at that point, he'd just been told to hold off, hadn't he? Because they wanted to break away from Verstappen, although actually I think they were probably, if they could have worked together with the slipstreaming, old school, Jim Clark, Graham Hill, 67 style, it might have worked better for them.

So it's interesting you have that interpretation of it, really, because I was sort of feeling that it was still very much nip and tuck between them and it was just a case of, Would the medium fall off so much that he would leave him powerless against Russell? I suppose that's what we're assuming would have

happened.
