It is interesting that this is the disease that they chose to pursue.

And we select out the alpha beta T cells, which are 95% of your T cell population.

And they're also notorious for causing graft-versus-host disease.

So we take those puppies out.

What I can say is a matched sibling donor transplant comes with a risk of 40% to 60% graft-versus-host disease.

There's also a need to really distinguish the different types of transplants, right? An autologous transplant versus an allo.

And again, we're not going to talk in depth about the CAR T cell therapy, but your risk of developing graft versus host disease is really case by case.

Patient by patient can be very different.

But I'm sad to say this.

So long-term survivorship and oral health for transplant recipients, bone marrow transplant survivors is minimize the invasive stuff and try to hold on to your teeth and gums for as long as possible.

And while that might sound like cliche and just common sense, please know that your ability to just brush and floss is going to be different.

In the setting of graft versus host disease, which almost everyone has some degree of, and it's not always a bad thing, that's also an indication that the transplant is working, right?

So the alpha beta T cell depletion is so there's a machine and they use magnetics and it takes the T cells out, which helps prevent like GVHD.
