Grace Slaughter

Kellie Harper, Mizzou women's basketball coach here on The Big Show, KTGR, and the KTGR app.

And then, uh, you've got a group of, of girls that have been with this program, uh, for several years now together in Grace Slaughter, Abby Schreck, and Avery Kronke.

Uh, just how important was to keep that, uh, core together as well when they know that they're-- uh, th-they've seen a few iterations of this program and now trying to move forward your iteration of it? Just how crucial was it to not only go out and get players, but also just retain those three?

Yeah, I think it was really important.

It's crazy to say that, right? Like, you're going into this team.

You know Grace Slaughter.

She is an all-SEC type player.

She's gonna be on her way to the WNBA.

That's gonna be the goal and a big thing that you talk about all season with Grace Slaughter, but I didn't hear Grace that much.

Mm.

I didn't.

And yes, maybe she's a little more quiet and soft-spoken.

Very interested.

Up next after them on Wednesday is Missouri at 10.35 a.m. Coach Kelly Harper and players Nevaeh Caffey, McKenzie Mathurin, and Grace Slaughter.

Really hopeful that Missouri has brought in some people to really help Grace Slaughter out because, whew, She's held a lot of the load in the last couple of seasons for Missouri.

So really excited to hear from Kelly Harper and her team.

Up next at 11.20, one of my ones that I'm watching, Kentucky.

So they've really gotta clean it up on the defensive end.

I'm also looking for, you know, who's gonna step up and help Grace Slaughter here.

Grace Slaughter is not gonna be able to do it all.

I feel like in the last couple of years they've really relied on her quite a bit, and, um, they just need more help in order to, to really contend in the SEC.

So, um, I'm looking for them, as I said, to play some better defense, some tighter defense, and hopefully to hold this team to under 75 points.
