Grace Livingston Hill

That's very important for me to see redemption.

How can God work this together? For the good of those who love him, you know, how can you work through stories? And my last book that I just wrote, The Lost Story of Bia Bell, was inspired by a novelist by the name of Grace Livingston Hill.

And she was one of those authors that I was allowed to read in middle school.

And so I was taking my bookmobile over, loading up with Grace Livingston Hill, coming home.

reading all of her historical romances.

And she was a Christian author.

I love that.

So your new novel, The Lost Story of Bill Bell, was inspired by the timeless storytelling of Grace Livingston Hill.

What was it about her work that inspired you? And when did you realize there was a story here that you needed to tell?

Yeah, so Grace Livingston Hill was a writer, a very popular novelist back in the 1920s through like the 1940s.

And she wrote, I think she ended up publishing 100 novels.

Incredible.

And as I became an adult, I used to read her book.

She was one of the novelists that I would check out back all the way in my childhood when I would take my bike over to the bookmobile.
