Gowerton

So I've been doing this now for six years.

So previous to that, I was head of science at a local comprehensive over in Gowerton.

I was doing that for 15 years.

Fitness has always been part of my life in terms of, for me personally, my therapy.

It culminates each September with a final at the home of cricket, Lord's Cricket Ground in London.

We have spoken to Welsh club cricketers about this competition before, notably the lads from Gowerton Cricket Club, who won the trophy in 1975.

But this is the first time we've spoken to a Welsh cricketer whose performance at Lord's has earned them a place in the National Village Cup Hall of Fame.

We hope you enjoy the listen.

Well, yeah, it was quite a funny story.

So you, when you first went in, you had, um, snacks and sort of free beer and coffees and teas and, uh, whatever you wanted alcohol-wise.

And then you met, uh, The Cricketer magazine, all the other, um, invitees, plus there was two other gentlemen who played against Gowerton in one of the finals, uh, from Troon.

They were also inducted, Brian and Terry Carter.
