Um, there's stuff that talks about, like, the Book of Old Gotham, which is, like, a, a handwritten book from the colonial era, um, that, uh, it, nobody knows, like, where it is, but you can find pages of it, like, in, you know, like, rare book libraries and stuff throughout Gotham.

I, I have mentioned it before.

I'm Dr. Alec Grant, and my sabbatical leave began at the beginning of the summer.

I hold a full chair in philosophy at Gotham University, and my intention was to spend my sabbatical year finishing a book.

When Murray Spray got in a bind and asked me to take over a summer course he was teaching in comparative theology, I would have turned him down, except that it was he who was covering my courses while I was on leave.

It was a stroke of luck that I said I would.
