Yeah, I think what's important, you know, we were talking about, I mentioned Pentecostals earlier, and what I don't want people to think is that within my position, that like when I was like, hey, I disagree with some of the Assemblies of God folks on some of these things, that all of the people in the Assemblies of God or the Church of God or all classical Pentecostalism as a whole disagrees with our position.

In fact, I would actually argue that... you know, Michael just said it, some of the scholarly folks out there, the, who's it, Gordon Fee, and then Jack Hayford, I mean, some of the most popular influential charismatic or Pentecostal theologians would actually more agree with us than I think are being persuaded in the comment section.

And that's true of any tradition, guys, like Methodist scholars versus Methodist congregants and charismatic churches and charismatic congregants.

I mean, like, You're going to have a an articulation gap between how the best would represent it versus someone in a comment section.

That's just that's just a normal thing that's going to happen in every tradition.

But all that to say, we're not really going to be engaging a ton with a Gordon Fee and Jack Hayford because they're going to agree with us.

When when I did some research on all the various positions, we found that somewhat with us.

They would agree in large part that tongues needs an interpreter.

Let each one take care how he builds upon it.

And I did this, one of the commentaries I read by Gordon Fee on this verse, he said, this is one of the most sobering verses in the Bible.

Be careful how you build.

Don't be taking man's wisdom and building in your life, especially in your soul.

There are so many good ones that have been written.

Maybe most famously Gordon Fee's book, Reading the Bible for All's Worth, which millions

of Christians have benefited from.

And I love that book.

And I remember just having the opportunity to listen to all the great Regent Audio lectures while I was mopping in my headphones.

I'm listening to Gordon Fee or to Hans Borsma's theology course or Bruce Waltke's Old Testament theology.

So it was just fascinating.

So all that to say that we plan, we do our best to be faithful stewards of the resources and the time that we have.

Um, people need to, uh, have a class or two on, uh, proper hermeneutics.

I think, um, how to read the Bible for all it's worth, I believe that's the name of a book, um, written by, um, I'm gonna have to pull this from memory, um, Doug Stuart and, um, Gordon Fee.

I think, uh, it's actually a great little primer book to explain with many, many examples of how easy it is to take passages out of their context and simply misinterpret them.

When Dr. Freeman died the month after, in January of 1985, they put out, um, a tape list, and there were 1,157 tapes on that tape list.

And Pastor Derek didn't quote from this book, but I want to point a book out to you.

There's a book called God's Empowering Presence by a guy named Gordon Fee.

He's a theologian.

It's a thick theological book.

man.

Yeah, so his one, I think, Roy Kiamper and Brian Rosner's Pillar Commentary on 1 Corinthians is really, is excellent, and Gordon Fee's Big Commentary is excellent, and they're the ones that point to, and to be honest, new work comes out, there's a great website called bestcommentaries.com, which you can go on and just see, and it's pretty up to date, so you can then, and there'll be like 30 or 40 items per book.

Very good.

And you can go on there and then go, oh, what level is that? And is that going to help? So they don't have a Chile rating system yet, but you can pick up, read between the lines.
