I would like to think that if we were an Apple podcast, we would also have been talking about the Pixel event a few weeks ago because sometimes it is one competitive market.

It's very, very rare that an Android user decides to cross over to iPhone or vice versa.

However, each company's software, hardware, operating systems, and strategy is influenced and helped by the presence of competitors.

And that's just like power management.

Like when I'm using it – when I have my own iPhone, which is an iPhone 14, I can kind of forget when the last time I charged it was.

Whereas – On my last Pixel phone, like the Pixel 7, I was real aware every time of what the battery status was.

The current name of my pain is that Sony Walkman 306 that I bought a few months ago.

So I'm not going to lie, I do my best to keep up on assistive technology and accommodations and those things that come out all the time, but I must admit is an impossible task with just everything coming out all the time, all the great stuff that's out there.

So this was actually brought to my attention by our head of deaf services here at Easterseals Crossroads, Katie.

And Katie, just let me know, have you heard about the new Google Pixel 11 and that it offers sign language translation? I had not.

So I went and found this story so that I could share it with all of our listeners.

There's cell phones.

Why can't we just call a cell phone number? Why can't we just use a cell phone? Obviously, we even tried talking to the Google Pixel team to say, hey, can we just use your watches and tap it? No, nothing was available that really allowed us to need a local network that could send a very quick signal, low latency, right? I don't need any, you know, the lowest latency from the time our system can detect it to the time that worker gets it more seconds that they get to try to get these safeties.

So You know, we initially took basically one of our developers who's very handy, a little electrical guy, you know, bought some off the shelf type of hardware.

I'll say kind of off the shelf.

So after I didn't realize I had lost it up until like the day before we were supposed to leave because I only use it once when I first landed there to go to the gym.

And then when I was looking for it while packing, I was like, wait.

And so you can use $150 towards Google Gemini Pro if that's something you're interested in.

I definitely am going to use it because it comes with my Google Pixel, but that's expiring soon, so I'll probably be renewing there.

But I've already signed up for...

I've already used most of my credit.

Less for me to talk to.

All right.

Next, the Google Pixel 11 came out and I'm a Google boy and I looked at the trees heavily and I decided to not purchase a Google Pixel 11.

All my things are binging because I have Google Homes all over the place.
