And, um, but now, you know...

Oh, God, I re- um, I remember the Google Glass era, right? Like, Google Glass is, is going to change everything.

It was named one of the, you know, the best inventions of 2012 from Time Magazine, and now I don't see any Google Glass except for in parodies, right? You know, and, and so it is he- helpful, um, to look at what's happening now with artificial intelligence through the lens of what came before.

I think it's, um, funny and, and also really probably, like, spot on to say we sometimes have amnesia.

[laughs] Like, we actually aren't that special when it come- we, we've seen this story before, even though it always feels terrifyingly new to some degree.

I tie this to the meta glasses right now with the way those cameras are being received.

Compare that to how Google Glass rolled out.

And if you talk back to the Patriot Act days and your formative years, that's back when cell phone cameras were kind of seen as a joke.

It was like, I'm going to take a photo on my phone.

But it's like the glasses as well.

You know, we've gone from the glasses being quite interesting to, you know, with Google Glass, it was glass hole.

Now it's pervert glasses with these new glasses.

That's going to be a huge, huge challenge.

With the Google Glass, you know, at the time there was a lot of pushback against the fact that it could be used to make video recordings and take pictures without people's consent.

And the Google Glass never released as a commercial product.

And I think the pushback was, you know, a part of that.

But now you can get the meta glasses.
