Google Forms

For those of you guys who don't know what we're talking about, DragonCon was this past weekend.

And every Sunday, they release the Star Wars qualifying exam on Google Forms.

And if you're interested in this, you can find it on their social media.

So they built a system where you design your own data format, number, text, time point, time range, choice, location, audio recording.

The configuration interface was like a form builder, Google Forms, or SurveyMonkey.

It had widgets, time-based triggers, data-driven triggers, automatic visualization based on the schema you defined.

It could integrate with Fitbit and Google Fit and RescueTime.

So it's just, practically speaking, a little bit challenging to check in as much as we would want to.

So we have gotten in the habit of having Google Forms where, you know, what's one thing that you're working on this week? And really getting them to own their process, I think, is really important.

I think it's so easy for a player to show up and say, tell me how to be better.

And I think it's really important that they feel that they are driving their process.

And so you're battling all of these sort of outside challenges.

practical things that are making it hard for those people to stay bought in.

So a couple things on our Google forms that we're asking them to fill out every week.

You know, we try to add a little levity and say, you know, tell us about your best family vacation or, you know, like just... you know, jokes on there.

So it's just, practically speaking, a little bit challenging to check in as much as we would want to.

So when it comes to managing all these applicants, you also don't really need expensive software to do it.

You can use free online tools like Google Forms, which are perfect for creating and distributing your internship information and application forms.

And it'll help keep your applicant pool organized in a centralized place and allow you to easily update the forms as your program evolves.

You can ask, for example, for a cover letter, resume, and references right through a Google Form.

I had to do things manually for everyone, so basically I've had to sit.

What I wanted Google for- Google Forms to do, such an ordeal.

What I wanted Google Forms to do was to basically, if you got something right, to give you a point, and then if you got another one of them right, to give you another point, another one, another point.

And apparently there's no way of Google Forms doing that.

But I didn't realize that till I'd set up the Google Forms.

I thought I'd set it up correctly, and I hadn't.

So I've had to do things manually, which is why it's taken a little while.
