You know, she has this wonderful short story called, like, Good Country People, where it's, like, all about respectability and class and, like, Is that the one where

they're in the car?

It's the one where, no, it's the one where the fake preacher comes to

Because you know, in Good Man is Hard to Find, in Revelation, in Good Country People, Everything That Rises Not Converged, the main character is just smacked with a baseball bat between the eyes, and it's a way of converting them.

Well, and sometimes she leaves them right in the middle of it and you never find out what they do with it at all.

I mean, at the end of Good Country People, you've got this poor girl stuck up in the hayloft.

I'm not going to go into it, but I have no idea what she's about to do or what she's going to tell her mother about what happened.

Yeah,

And so that's one way to approach an offer of a gift.

It's like, you know what, never mind, I'm good.

And it's possible in Good Country People that Joy Holga will do that.

I don't think she will.

... um, that's, that can actually hold.

And, and that's the whole thing between, I think, g- good country people and trash, right? The good country people supposedly have that outside objective reality 'cause they're rooted in nature, and, and, you know, uh, so...

But when those people lose their faith, you end up with this.
