Tonight, riders on this popular rollercoaster at Six Flags evacuated after a passenger died while on the ride.

The Goliath is one of the largest rides at Six Flags Over Georgia.

A former Six Flags Over Georgia ride operator says the safety restraint on the Goliath roller coaster could potentially open under extreme force, though he considers it highly unlikely.

Bryson Watley discussed possible restraint malfunctions following the death of Hassan Jihad Ibn Kareem, who was ejected from the ride.

Investigators are still working to determine what caused the fatal accident.

Now, there was a man, he was riding the Goliath ride when he fell to his death.

And they have not released this man's name, but it's just horrific, the accounts of people who were in the ride with him, who were on the ground seeing what happened.

Six Flags Over Georgia will reopen as planned on Friday, several days after a man fatally fell from the Goliath ro- rollercoaster.

But that ride will remain closed for the time being.

So the Atlanta area amusement park was on weekend operations.

Meanwhile, here in Florida, the Mako rollercoaster at SeaWorld Orlando has a similar seat harness.

Also remains closed for the time being.

Yeah, it's made by the same manufacturer of the Goliath rollercoaster.

Now, there are three rides at Busch Gardens that were also made by that manufacturer.

The victim was 42-year-old Hassan Karim, a father and beloved educator from Atlanta.

He was riding the Goliath.

He was riding the Goliath roller coaster Monday afternoon when police say he was thrown from his seat.

Investigators say he struck other riders before falling beneath the roller coasters.

Four other people were reportedly injured.

Georgia State inspectors and Cobb County Police are both investigating.

And Six Flags has temporarily shut down nine similar roller coasters across the United States and Canada as a precaution.

The Goliath ride in Georgia will remain closed even as the rest of the park reopens on Friday.

I saw one story, which obviously wasn't correct, because they said this accident happened on Monday, which that's not accurate.

This happened, the Six Flags Goliath accident, where somebody unfortunately lost their life.

That happened on Sunday? Saturday.

It happened on Monday.

Well, my point is, we just want to go back to that.

Well, I said someone lost their life.

Yeah, there was an accident on Goliath at Six Flags over Georgia.

Several were injured also.
