George is a legend in the golf storytelling world.

He was editor of Golf Magazine for 25 years, a golf adventurer.

He famously lived in St. Andrews.

He's the author of numerous must-own golf books, including his latest, The Best Logos in Golf, from Back Nine Press.

Yeah.

Um, so y- let's talk about the book, Best Logos in Golf, the criteria.

And I think it's really fitting and interesting that you do the top 100 logos in golf because, George, if folks don't know, 25 years editor-in-chief of Golf Magazine, you launched the ranking of the top 100 golf courses.

So to now do logos, it's coming full circle.

Liberty, Liberty, Liberty, Liberty.

And we have returned to those weekend golf guys, John Ashton in the studio, Jeff Smith, Golf Magazine Top 100 teacher, on his way to give some lessons on the course in not only how to swing, but how to think.

This is going to be an interesting day because I've not taught here before.

Jeff, you were telling me you had a pretty good week this week.

A couple of your former students from the Sagamore Club in Noblesville, Indiana, where you worked for a few years.

He has spent decades documenting the world's most beautiful courses.

His work has appeared in Golf Digest, Golf Magazine, and of course, Golf Tips Magazine as well.

And as a global traveler, he brings an unparalleled eye for the aesthetics and logistics of the perfect golf trip.

And at that time I was teaching, I was probably giving 30 lessons a week or so, and maybe 20, 15 hours or so.

And, and, um, The only thing, what I taught was I'd wait for the Golf Digest and the Golf Magazine to come out, and I'd go, okay, this is what we're teaching this month.

And I was, you know, I taught what I played.

I was playing, and I had some knowledge about having played and being successful there, but I didn't really know what to teach.

And I got my good friend, Don Cooper, longtime caddy on the PGA Tour.

We had a good friend, Wayne Flint, one of my longtime mentors in Golf Magazine Top 100 Teacher.

And then we got the doc.

He makes us all look smarter.

That's that longtime friend I was mentioning.

He has coached and mentored over 125 PGA and LPGA professionals, collegiate and junior players who have combined to win over 125 events, And he is one of only two PGA members to be recognized as a PGA section teacher of the year in both the Met and South Florida sections.

We haven't heard from George.

And probably about a year and a half here on Key to Green, former editor of Golf Magazine, currently the editor of Lynx Magazine.

He's published 20 books in his career, and number 20 just out in the last couple of weeks is called The Best Logos in Golf.

And we'll talk to George about that.

It's been a while since we've had him on the show.
