The Golden Globe, of course, unique for having a comedy, or it's, it's called B- comedy or musical category.

The nominees there for Best Picture are-

Following the release of This is Spinal Tap, Reiner would go on to a directing, writing, and producing run throughout the '80s and '90s of astounding success that is almost unrivaled in Hollywood.

After directing the 1985 romantic comedy, The Sure Thing, Reiner directed 1986's Stand by Me, the film adaptation of Stephen King that I mentioned in the intro The movie was a critical and commercial darling, and was even nominated for Best Motion Picture Drama at the Golden Globes.

For his efforts, Reiner was nominated for Best Director Golden Globes as well.

In 1987, Reiner followed Stand by Me with the quintessential Princess Bride, which he produced and directed.

This movie features the iconic line delivered by Jack Nicholson, "You can't handle the truth," and proved to be Reiner's most successful film at the box office.

The number of awards A Few Good Men was nominated for is long, so I'll give the highlights.

The film was nominated for six Golden Globes, including Best Director, Motion Picture, and Best Motion Picture Drama.

It also received four Academy Award nominations, including Best Picture.

But...

It did also win Golden Globe for Best Picture Drama and it won the BAFTA for Best Film.

So...

Pretty fucking successful things, right? I always, I don't know why, I always thought that Heath Ledger had won the Oscar for this, but he didn't.

So the 66th annual Golden Globes took place on January 11th, 2009 in the Beverly Hilton Hotel.

Best Drama went to Slumdog Millionaire, beating out The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, Frost/Nixon, The Reader, and Revolutionary Road.

So Revolutionary Road bumps Milk in their nominee list.

For Musical or Comedy, they gave it to Vicky Cristina Barcelona, beating Burn After Reading, Happy-Go-Lucky, In Bruges, and Mamma Mia.
