Gold Award

I just renewed Reagan, my daughter, for another year in Girl Scouts.

She is in her... gold award project phase right now she's actually implementing it in the school right now she's doing all the things so this year she will earn her gold award which is which is a big deal she's put a lot into this and I will tell you I haven't done a thing for her you know how that is like oh yeah like she does everything on her own and meets with the people on her own and does that I mean I help her when she like needs guidance I know should I do this or should I do that you know

I would say that's true.

I know that because I know she's very independent.

But at the same time, I was also a Girl Scout for 12 years.

I got my Gold Award in 1992.

So the community service component changed.

that Miss America requires really was shaped and honed through Girl Scouts.

You know, come up with a project.

Join the Girl Scouts and do a Gold Award project.

[whoosh] Number 21, summer volunteer.

So there's lots of organizations that are always looking for volunteers.
