God's Not Dead

One of the best performing docs of all time made 30 something million dollars.

And then God's Not Dead was the next movie I did.

um and then you have you have two hits in a row and then all of a sudden hollywood pays attention so

um

If you've got two actors, do their audience overlap or do they clash? Yeah.

Because if they clash, dude, you don't have a compounding win.

This is why God's not dead.

When I sat and did the analysis on that, I'm like, okay, we got Hercules.

But guys, hear this.

As Christian and as believers, and we've seen this picture, and it was in the movie God's Not Dead.

I want you to picture this.

In Christ, the Bible says that we're free, right? We just read the scripture earlier.

Even though there's other things that aren't 100% blessed, they're blinded by some of these things that the enemy's like, no, you're good.

You're good.

But eventually, and I like how you shared that from the God's Not Dead movie, because that's like one of the most powerful scenes I've ever seen in a movie.

Because eventually that door is going to shut.

Right.

christ and that's going to bring a lot of eyeballs back i did a movie way back in the day called god's not dead that was a very small budget but it did very very well because of how it was you and kevin yeah kevin sorbonne i did it and kevin sorbonne i've just collaborated on another movie that i wrote produced directed called uh holy one that i'm in post on now we're going to finish it up very soon he's very good in it he's better in it than i am because he's the star of it but uh and he said i have to say that But Kevin is a great friend.

I love what he's doing.

But I love making movies like that that help educate people.

They're moving to more AI movies now.

But to me it's, I, I like, I call them actors movies, and that's what I've been blessed to do with movies like God's Not Dead and Let There Be Light and, uh, Miracle in East Texas.

I'm gonna keep making movies that have a positive impact on people.

I get stopped all the time.

Okay, this is what I wanted to say.

To be fair to them, a bunch of the God's Not Dead movies have 100% on Rotten Tomatoes because people just

delays

those.

Anyway, here's another thing, and this can be seen as a positive or negative, what have you.

Let me tell you something.

The God's Not Dead movies, very asexual.

the witnesses movie not asexual at all and do we want to go do we want to go chronologically or do we want to give overall thoughts just go ahead and give all thoughts okay um i wrote this down you could cut the gay tension in this movie with a dang knife yeah every other scene matt matt didn't watch the movie every other scene is somebody looking at joseph smith like literally like there's a little glimmer in the eye matt zoom in whenever you do that zoom yeah Including Joseph Smith.

Um, I, when I was putting this all together, I thought really quickly, when God's Not Dead came out-

... and when God's Not Dead 2 came out, one of the criticisms when people just heard about the movie before it was out is, wait, this is a movie that's basically a professor who is Christian, and he gets in trouble for basically saying that-

Yeah

... and fighting for that.

Yeah

... than the kid who is Christian and tries to challenge him on it.

There aren't many I can point to.

And spoiler alert, it's not God's not dead.

It is The Pilgrim's Progress by John Bunyan.

That thing has all that thing has.

They're completely different themes.

works of art.

And I mentioned God's Not Dead earlier, so I'm not a fan, but God's Not Dead is definitely... distant, distant ancestor of John Bunyan.

It's not a distant ancestor of Dante or Milton.

Is he? Yeah, he's like a MAGA.

He's also in God's Not Dead, the movie.
