Gods and Generals

Hateful Eight was the last one I saw as well in the theater.

One I always think about though is Gods and Generals.

Do you guys, do you guys know the, um, that it's like a trilogy of Civil War movies that came out over, like, 20 years? It was like Gettysburg was one of them, which is a extremely famous movie.

And then, um, Gods and Generals I think was the second or third one.

But I, I remember that clearly being like you, you gotta go in and...

And then it's just like, yeah, like go pee.

How long was it?

Uh-

I-- If you wanna see some Civil War weirdness, go to the Stonewall Jackson Shrine.

Um, and if you ever saw the movie Gods and Ge- if you ever endured the movie Gods and Generals, all four and a half hours of it, which I did 'cause I had to write a review of it, you know that they took almost a half hour to have Stonewall Jackson die.

I'm sorry for those of you who are Stonewall Jackson fans.

Yes, that happened during actually the filming.

Do you remember the 90s movie Ted Turner made? Those movies like Gettysburg and Gods and Generals and all that stuff.

So during the filming of Gettysburg, obviously these guys are filming there.

They're all dressed up in the uniform as their costumes.

Well, you know, when we start thinking about a manual for life, it's hard to beat the Bible.

Another book that I like to go to is the book itself is called Gods and Generals.

It was made into the movie Gettysburg.

And one time I gave a speech on 12 Lessons from Gettysburg.

for the livestock industry.

And so there's a lot of neat things.

I think probably the primary lesson that comes from gods and generals is always take the high ground.

And if we go through life that way, we're always taking the high ground.

Both the novel and film Gods and Generals depict Stonewall Jackson teaching at VMI before Virginia secedes.
