Goatsnake

Very, very, very intense sludge.

I think the coolest directly Sabbath band of more our era is goat snake.

I think they get it all the most right.

I think if you dial up the scary occult bit of it, 20%, you get electric wizard, unimpeachably cool band.

I'm like, okay, I need to, I need to listen to Black Sabbath.

Like, cause I had also, you know, been getting into like, some stoner, doom metal, you know, Goat Snake, Fu Manchu, all that kind of stuff.

But I hadn't really delved into like the reason why all those bands existed, which was Black Sabbath, of course.

And I remember one day I was in the city on my bike, working as a bike messenger, and I went into like a Borders Books.

There is a funny through line with this, like, all the production work on this record, though.

So, Andrew Leckel, this Nick guy, and their assistant engineer, Essing was his last name, all worked on Goat Snake's Flower of Disease the year before.

I don't know, it's just funny to me that, like, all three of the engineers associated with this project also all worked on the same Goat Snake record.

I assume it's just because they all worked in the same studio together, but it's just kind of funny.

And the album was mastered by Tom Baker, so...

Was there only one notable?

Well, over the time that we were doing stuff, I remember playing with, yeah, Goat Snake.

We did a few shows with Goat Snake, Cathedral.

Awesome.

We did, obviously there were bands like Kang.

So...

So you played some awesome gigs.

We did, we did play, we played with, I remember doing a show, the tour with Goat Snake was kind of a strange one.
