GNOME Shell

Well, where I was going with this was there hasn't been sufficient development effort and testing and all the rest of it Because I just don't think that touch only is something that is a priority for Linux users.

I think we kind of went through that phase in the early days of Gnome Shell and Unity and this kind of working towards a touchscreen thing with Linux.

And then we realized that, well, actually, there are dedicated Android and iPad devices for that.

And I know touchscreen Macs are coming soon.

26.24 fully embraces Wayland.

Gnome Shell can't run as an Xorg session anymore.

X Wayland is still there, so your old X applications keep working, but the compositor is Wayland only now.

That's a real change.
