Gnawa

An old friend in Rabat organizes street events across North Africa.

He tried to bring some local respected Gnawa musicians to the ship, which would have been an honor and a blessing.

But in a bizarre interpretation of maritime law, the port police decide that our ship is an outpost of a foreign country, a piece of the Netherlands, so that no Moroccan is allowed on board Arca Canary without a European visa.

The musicians are turned away.

And Deathnap the Dance 2.

And here's some Gnawa love from Samir Langas and Aisha.

Thank you.

Thank you.

That'll be good for you.

Morocco sending you some Gnawa love from Samir Langus.

His new album features Miami Bloco on that track, Aicha.

Turkish Psych comes back to The Pearl on Granville September 30th and Sabata 5 from Paris.
