Glazing

Um, you know, obviously those two houses are in different markets and different neighborhoods.

Uh, but anyway, so, um, designing, uh, uh, uh, in a way so that the house is beautiful, but cost-effective it's the engineering, it's the score footage, right? Um, it's also the amount of glazing, um, Glazing is a really expensive thing.

That's another item.

And then we think about, okay, what are the brands, window brands and door brands we could work with that are cost effective but have the kind of profile we want? Are we concerned about fire resiliency? What does that mean in that selection? And then beyond that, the next thing is probably finishes throughout the house.

You know, depending, I would say overall, most folks are probably new to the trade.

And we at the IUPAT, we have quite a few different trades, including industrial painting, commercial painting, drywall finishing, floor covering, and glazing.

So when somebody comes into one of our offices saying, hey, I want to be an apprentice, we say, well, what do you like and what do you know about? And then show them their options and let them choose a pathway that's Glazing is a little bit more technical, perhaps.

You know, I don't want to poo-poo on any other trade, but it can be more technical than some other trades just because it's so diverse, right? All the way from doing a screen all the way up to those unitized panels and everything in between.

So, including, you know, some electronics, electrochromic glass, maybe some security.
