And so 18 or 19 is perfectly fine because before treatment, maybe their pressure was 45.

There are other people usually with much more advanced glaucoma that they come in and I see them and go, look, your pressure's 12, but it really needs to be eight.

What we know is on the basis of a study called AGES, which is Advanced Glaucoma Intervention Study, which is a relatively elderly study now, that in theory, if you have advanced glaucoma, if your pressure is below 14, which is actually a surrogate measure for episcleral venous pressure, which is the blood supply draining fluid from the eye, if you've got a pressure below 14, in theory, you shouldn't get worse.

But in practice, we know that's not true.

Some people need lower.

You were at a couple of ophthalmology conferences in the last 12 months, UK's new CRISCIS.

If you think that they're going to have surgery, maybe even in a few years time, I think you do sow those seeds to say that they may be having surgery so they can contemplate that because it's actually, you know, quite a big thing to take on.

Lots of patient information out there.

And actually, this is the role of organizations like Glaucoma UK, who are excellent in providing information to patients.

One of the risk factors for glaucoma, as I mentioned, is old age, and then we also have age-related retinal disease for, so for people who are aging, there are a lot of, um, condition.

It's just like in a normal setting, aging is also associated with, um, diabetes and hypertension.

So for a typical eye clinic, normally we are looking at what, what we use to diagnose maybe glaucoma, what can we use to gla- diagno- diagnose glaucoma.

So for glaucoma, for instance, re- research has shown that Sub-Saharan Africa has a higher, uh, if you are from Sub-Saharan Africa, you're at a higher risk of what? Glaucoma.

And the burden of glaucoma is higher in Africa than in some other places.
