Gladys Berejiklian

Republicans used to be like George Bush, you know.

There are many people I know that had a brief stint where they loved Gladys Berejiklian.

Okay.

And I feel like there's not many other things out there to congratulate.

And we know that your boss, Chris Minns, has always shared the credit because this was something that was undertaken by the previous coalition government.

So Dominic Perrottet and Gladys Berejiklian deserve a lot of praise.

Absolutely.

And the Premier in particular has been really clear about that.

You go to bat for your electorate.

In fact, Gladys Berejiklian, because it was called pork barrelling, and Gladys Berejiklian, I think she actually said it in parliament, so it'll be in Hansard.

She said, oh, everyone does it.

And there's nothing wrong with that.

Now, I think that if you're a genuine threat, I mean, there's a big difference between being a a fringe party, a crossbench party, a minor party, and being a major party of government.

And I think that voters should have a very high bar if they're assessing someone like myself or Kelly Sloan or Dominic Perrottet or Gladys Berejiklian, because at the end of the day, you'll be sitting on the treasury benches, running the transport department, running the budget, running the economy, And you have to have answers to the fundamental questions about debt and how you're going to balance the budget and how you're going to pay for emergency departments and new police officers.

And that's got to be a bar, I would argue, that Mike Newman and One Nation have to meet before people vote in March.

Does Mike Newman have the credentials to lead New South Wales?

No, I don't think so.

I mean, I do acknowledge Gladys Berejiklian for introducing that, and I think it was a really great step.

I think in this day and age, one of the difficulties we have is that any dissent sort of, you know, explodes into very hot debate.

And I think one of the problems we have is that It's hard to address an issue if you're not talking about it.

Why haven't we got a fast rail connection in place for the opening this Sunday? It's a dreadful piece of poor planning by the New South Wales government.

You'd have to say the Berejiklian government holds most of the blame because they spent $15 billion on a metro to St Mary's, which is forecast to only have 14% take-up during peak hour, 86% empty.

So why wasn't the Leppington line extended at much lower cost, probably $3 or $4 billion, And that would give you the capacity to run through Glenfield, East Hills, Mascot and into the CBD.

And you wouldn't have to pay those exorbitant taxi fees.

Mark Latham was talking before, and some things I don't agree always with Mark, but one thing I think he's got 100% right is the Aerotropolis and development around the Aerotropolis as being a flop.

And I don't know.

It's not really discussed because it's a pretty complicated subject, but I reckon all the blame doesn't just lie with Berejiklian and the Liberals and, you know, the Labor government's been in for a while as well, but the actual department, the Department of Planning, who's made this flop.

The only trouble is I would have thought it makes sense that those kind of sub-industries are going to only set up when there's a critical mass of flights in and out of that airport.

Dom Perrottet, who he was the premier after Gladys Berejiklian.

And I met him at a radio station and we were kind of like crossing paths at the elevator and he pulled me aside and he's like, man, I love your stuff.

He goes, you don't understand.
