Glacier de Péclet

They do their own unique take on raclette, homemade sausages infused with alpine herbs and slow-braised pork cheek in Mondeuse red wine.

And the views looking out across the Peclet Glacier from their wooden terraces are breathtaking.

They even have a little educational farm trail with goats and chickens that kids absolutely adore.

It feels warm, welcoming and completely grounded in the land.

Because the two cables are spaced so far apart, side winds physically cannot twist or sway the cabin.

In 1990, they built the world's very first commercial Funitel, the Funitel de Péclet, taking skiers straight up towards the Péclet Glacier.

And the performance was unbelievable.

While normal gondolas had to shut down at 60 kilometers an hour, this new Funitel could safely operate in howling gale-force winds exceeding 110 kilometers an hour.

It is the undisputed crown of the Three Valleys, or Les Trois Vallées, which is officially the largest linked ski domain on the planet.

With a single lift pass, you have direct, seamless access to 600 kilometers of interconnected pistes across eight world-class resorts, including Méribel, Courchevel, and Les Menuires.

You can ski from the top of the Péclet Glacier in Val Thorens all the way across to Courchevel 1650, do 50 kilometers of vertical descent in a day, and never ride the same chairlift twice.

And they've even linked it to the Maurienne Valley via Orelle, the famous fourth valley, meaning you can drop down the backside of the mountain on an epic transalpine journey.
