Gish gallop

That's the extent of the argument that Macklemore has a history of antisemitism.

It's a classic Gish Gallop fallacy, where a bunch of individually weak arguments are clumped together to create the illusion of a strong argument.

In the same pro-Palestine speech, which gave rise to all this artificial controversy, Macklemore said the following.

The more you do press conferences, Moon Amory, you know when you're going to get a bit of a gish gallop.

For anybody who doesn't know what a gish gallop is, go Google it.

Or you can tell sometimes when he's just going to kind of give a short and kind of contrite answer.

And I could tell, I suppose, within the first seven or eight seconds of this answer that I was there, yeah, this is just going to be an overarching and a big blurb of an answer.

And he said a lot of things in this and a lot of things not really pertinent to the question he was asked, but a lot of interesting things.

And that's why I call it a Gish Gallop.

So the press conference itself goes on for 13 minutes and he took up three minutes and 52 seconds.

So here's the mechanism question, right? Does this image actually become a uniform? Because there's a version of it where it's a Tuesday, right? It's content and it evaporates by Friday.

The Gish Gallop, like last week's episode about flooding the field and filling it with bullshit.

There's a version where somebody at the Pentagon reads it as an executive order, though.

So here's the thing.

She didn't establish anything in, you know, facts.

But because there's, it's almost like there's a logical fallacy called the Gish Gallop, where you just throw so many things at a person that they don't even have a chance at getting to each one.

And so it was kind of like a version of that.

And so now, fast forward to all of the things she's saying regarding the killing of Charlie Kirk.

And then think about it for too long while you're over here going, "Ooh, they'll never see what I'm doing with petroleum over here."

Yeah, Gish Gallop for sure.
