Girlfight

She took a break after that, and then she came back with this.

She did Girl Fight, which is the Michelle Rodriguez movie.

That was her first movie.

Then she did the AM Flux movie, which wasn't great.

The thing about Karin Kusama is, like, the origins of us.

I mean, Girl Fight's really good movie yeah and then eon flux happens that's obviously a disaster though a disaster i have a taste for um i don't think i've ever seen

that movie or if i

did

And to do it in this sort of offhand way, just to surprise us... feels cheap in a way that i would not would not expect of karen kusama you know what i mean and it's just like it just

it was the feeling of we wanted to ride for her and it's like in some i mean eon flux excluded i think it's her weakest

movie Yeah, I mean, Girl Fight's another movie I don't remember very much about from 2000, and that's just because it was 26 years ago.

Girl Fight is like the best, is like best case scenario for Destroyer.

Yeah.

I read that there was some tension on set because that was like also kind of Michelle Rodriguez's big breakthrough after Girl Fight, you remember? Because that was like her first big starring role after the indie hit of Girl Fight.

And Milla Jovovich was like, what the fuck? This character is like...

kind of taken over this movie.

Um, But, like, yeah, I think Michelle Rodriguez is great.

Like, because she had this run, like, after Girl Fight, where it's, like, she was this role but did it really well between, like, Fast and Furious, this, SWAT came out the year after this.

I saw SWAT in the theater.

And

I think that's brilliant.

The interesting thing that almost torpedoed this movie is that when Michelle Rodriguez joined as Rain, she plays this character Rain, hot off Girl Fight, which was the Karen Kusama film, Oscar buzz.

It's gotten a Criterion release.

It's a great movie.
