Whitney is, you know, kind of like a poster child for the girl boss, which is a term that came around sort of 20, like early, early aughts, like 2005, 2010.

And there's a book called Girlboss, and it's about, you know, women stepping into kind of like financial freedom and sort of the business space with a certain amount of savvy, a certain amount of sense of, you know, I deserve to be here too.

And like, no fucks are given here, people.

And in many ways, that's amazing.

to say the least, that it's swinging so far in the other direction.

But I completely understand intellectually why they could see, you know, the reaction to the Gaslight, Gatekeep, Girlboss era and be like, oh, yeah, we don't want this.

This sucks.

Like, we just want to go home and have babies and traipse around in hen shit all day.

But we still feel this extreme pull one direction or the other.

And so I'm really curious for you as somebody who's building this, this platform and this ecosystem for ambitious women during a time where ambitious is almost kind of a dirty word, kind of going back, I guess, on the girlboss scale, where that's like a derogatory thing, how you feel about that as somebody who is building something big, who is also a mother, who is also existing in all of these identities at once and, and how that impacts what you're building and how you build it.

Hmm.

It's such a good question.

I think it's we just are struggling right now to like appease what people want to see online, right? They want to see the morning routines and the red light mask and the Pilates and doing all of it in one day, and it's like sometimes you just don't have those days.

Sometimes you are working until 3:00 in the morning, and sometimes you're at school pickup, and sometimes you're not, and sometimes you have beautiful date nights, and sometimes you don't.

Like, it's just what I've been struggling with is figuring out what is appropriate to share online because of how it can trigger people, right? Like, girlboss has become such a negative word, and I think it's because it was, there was so much toxicity in the work environment.

Do I believe you can build an insanely fast-growing company while respecting your employees? 100%.

My woman knows what power is, and she is power, and she's inspiring the right audience.

Just talking to Gina about this the other day, every journalist always wants to talk to me about Girlboss.

Every headline for the last 10, 20 years has been around the Girlboss.

And I just think there's so many conversations around or like trad wives or this, that and the other.

It's all it's it's the same thing that happened to the generation above us who were coming up in like a scarcity mindset where they were pitted against one another.

There's something so sadistically energized about that femininity.

And I talk about it in the Girlboss chapter of Enemy Feminisms, where I kind of trace some of these military feminisms, these sorts of Should I bring my comments to a close in a second? I'm just noticing that I'm going on forever.

There's a sort of moment in the history of humanitarian, liberal... genocide that heavily rests on figures of girlish patriotism.

There's a woman called Svarvkal in a kind of Pentagon context, pressing a button that all the silly boys don't want to press.

It's extremely toxic.

Girlbossing, it's not sexy.

Just the balance is the most important, especially if you have family, kids, pets, and of course your own body, because we always need to remember that our body, our health, our mental health too is the most important.

then all other things.

And I think we've just been sold this lie.

And that's like kind of the heart of the Girlboss culture is like, you can do it all.

You can't do it all.

You shouldn't be doing it all.

And I just, I don't want to get to that point.

So it's a constant, constant balance.

But I think with the Rise of Girlboss, we lost the fact that we can rest.
