[laughs]

So that was just me.

It was simple.

I enjoyed it.

But the, I knew the HR director, and she's who helped me find him, and she came to me one day and she said, "You know, Gina, I'd love it if you could just plan ahead, because next quarter I'd really like your services as well." And I said, "Well, I'm full.

I don't really have more bandwidth." And she said, "Well, that's okay.

Just find me somebody like you." And I was like, "Uh, I don't know about that." So [laughs] but she and I had a lot of mutual connections, and we thought of somebody, and her name's Dorian.

How have you helped people who might have been a little less naturally gifted at the art of delegation [laughs] to, uh, to gain that trust in themselves and the people that they're working with?

Give me some examples of the sorts of tasks that executive assistants typically do for these executives or these business owners.

Well, I'll tell you, you know, the more things get automated...

the more it changes and now you add in AI.

So if you have a thought like, I should really automate this or I should really be using AI, a lot of times now you use your executive assistant to do that.

So even though you have a calendar link, somebody's got to manage that calendar link.

Somebody's got to manage all the messages that flow out of that calendar link.

How many reminders come? How many XYZ? messages come? Are they on brand? Do they actually sound like you? Or are they just annoying? So that's a good place to utilize your executive assistant is to set up some good structure, some good systems, some good automation.

So how do you navigate that?

Right.

You know, and I think one of the hacks, I mean, I will just say a hack for any professional.

And I think I know this just feels very scary in particular for lawyers is.

And I said this to myself, how can I get the same job done in less time? Well, what I had to start by doing rather than figure out how to reduce the time I took away time from myself.

In other words, Gina, if you didn't work on Fridays, how are you going to get all your work done Monday through Thursday? And I started to confront that, except I'm a criminal like everybody else, and on Friday, while you're not working, that probably really looks like looking at your phone every 15 minutes, which is not not working.

So then I discovered, and this is a big recommendation I would offer, is...

Book yourself to be doing something that you say is important to you that involves other people and money.

I know one person in my life who can literally have an entire conversation with me purely by asking questions, and it, it takes so much discipline and thought.

Like, it's thoughtful, not thoughtful like kind, but it is a thinking, thought-heavy conversation to actually have yourself keep asking questions and keep generating your own curiosity.

Because the brain is not really interested in that.

The brain's like, it just wants simplicity, comfort, familiarity.

Like, "Oh, we're not...
